An S2 would honestly be great. Even though I like the slower pace as well, I think things start developing a lot faster almost immediately after the point the anime finished, ironically enough. It's like as soon as Shiori gives herself mental permission to start changing and showing she cares about Hinako, she REALLY just goes for it full speed.

It's kind of odd how different human Shiori acts compared her mermaid era, even before she starts opening and acknowledging that she's changing herself. Obviously the ultra-cheerful :D-at-everything act is a facade, but even then, it seems like she genuinely enjoys behaving like that (when she's not doing it to pretend to not mind eating Hinako), being the boke, trolling Miko, and so on. I don't think that's all fake, but I don't know where the continuity goes between all of that personality now and how totally straightforward and humorless she used to be before taking a human form. Just in the right environment to express what was previously held back now?
