This series has really good music to get you pumped up and it’s very underrated within the anime community. Whenever osts are brought up I never really hear about Raildex but the music is all really good if you’re talking about the intro and outro music. The character theme songs are kind of meh but nothing is perfect. I don’t think I’ve heard a raildex op/ending that I didn’t like.

The first part has been completely adapted as an anime to extremely varying levels of quality. The anime changes certain things or speeds through some novels (especially the 3rd season), but doesn't straight up disregard canon. There are several spin offs that, no matter what the railgun only folks say, really expect you to at least consume the first couple volumes of Index in some capacity. It's not going to make the story incomprehensible, but you will be tilting your head as to what just happened or stuff like why this character is suddenly crippled. The OP is something from one of the spin offs. I'd say you can watch the first season of Index and then the first season of A Certain Scientific Railgun to see if it interests you.

The Index manga starts off rocky because it fucking skips 2 of the 3 most important set up volumes in the early series (the second and fourth ones). Something about getting to sisters/mikoto faster.
