Do you read manga on your phone?
>>
Yes, reading it on pc is retarded I could be doing literally anything else sitting at my computer.
>>
I used to, but then I realized if I'm willing to read it on my phone but not on pc then it's not worth reading in the first place.
>>
I hate it. I would rather a tablet if I have to read digital.
Phone reading is for when I poop and only gag series (involving poop)
>>
my phone is a device for when I'm not at home
if I'm not at home it's because I have things to do other than reading manga
so no
>>
Why would I do that when my phone can watch anime and play gacha?
>>
>>285158826
Easier to hold than a tablet
>>

He was right when he said this, then he was wrong and now it's back to right.
>>
Nah, I have e-Ink for that

If you are not reading in double page mode you are reading everything wrong.

Nah I bought myself a tablet just for that.

Yes
>>
I mostly did in paper format. I hardly use digital anymore.
>>
>>285158671
A reading tablet (hacked) is much better and easier on your eyes.
>>
>>285159269
>>285159334
>>285159370
What's the ideal tablet size for reading manga?
>>
I use my phone to make phone calls.
>>
>>285159269
>If you are not reading in double page mode you are reading everything wrong.
Whst the fufk kind of device is that?
>>
No but I read books, LNs on phone

>Although Japanese manga tankobon may be in various sizes, the most common are Japanese B6 (12.8 cm × 18.2 cm) and ISO A5 (14.8 cm × 21.0 cm)

Note that a large part of manga is initially published in magazines that use B5 format. And to account for double pages by using the next larger size (i.e B5, A4 and B4).
>>
My sister is unemployed so I pay her to read manga to me and describe the pictures
>>
Only retards read it on a phone, way too small. Tablet is the best way to read manga.
>>
>>285158671
No, I'm not retarded
>>
>>285158671
I can't read any electronic manga. It's not the same. Even with anime I print off all the frames and read the script alongside my viewing of them.
>>
>>285159585
How am I supposed to interpret that?
>>
>>285159926
People don't read on phone for the quality but because it's the most convenient. You will always have your phone with you but not your tablet, and it's a pain to sync progress.
>>
>>285160007
This, also it's easier to hold a phone for longee periods
>>
not anymore practically, since I've bought a 10'' tablet
>>
>>285160007
>You will always have your phone with you
Stop projecting.
>>
>>285160007
>and it's a pain to sync progress.
It's literally the same.
>it's the most convenient. You will always have your phone with you but not your tablet
These people are casuals who are not serious about manga and don't care about enjoying it in the best possible quality available to them, it's just disposable entertainment. They need to get back to rredd*t like all phoneposters do.
>>
>>285160007
If I only have my phone, it means I'm not in a location where I wan't to read manga anyway
>>
>>285158671
Exclusively. It is 2026 grandpa, get with the times
>>
>>285158671
No, I use an iPad mini.
>>
>>285159397
I’d say 10 inches, but I’m not sure if those are still being made.
>>
>>285160073
>literally the same
What do you mean the same
>These people are casuals who are not serious about manga and don't care about enjoying it in the best possible quality available to them, it's just disposable entertainment.
Nigga manga is made with the shittiest paper ever fuck off
>>
Mihon, single page mode, landscape for unsplitable spreads. Phone is the superior way to read.
>pc
Brown behavior only unemployed and jeets read manga at their pc because they can't afford anything fun to do at it.
>tablet
Is better in some cases. I use mine occasionally in bed but most of the time I still prefer my phone. It's large enough to display 2k resolution images perfectly on screen, but small enough that it's never inconvenient to use.
>>
>>285160166
10" in 4:3 is the bare minimum. 13" is where it's at.
>>
>>285158671
On my iPad mostly
>>
>>285160185
Mihon doesn't work for manga.
>>
>>285160101
You don't want to read manga during work breaks?
>>

why do you hate manga?
>>
>>285160000
"display" are real imensions of the device screens.
"page" are dimensions of letterboxed standard ratio pages.
page area in mpix is actually not really important since most scanlates and simulpubs are under 1600px tall.
page fill % is how small black bars are on the sides, 100% is a perfect sqrt(2) display.
page diagonal ideally should be between JIS B5 and ISO A4 but ymmv.

on android/apple dpi is more = better.
on windows non-integer scaling starts to matter if you want to use a device for anything other than reading manga.
>>
>>285160237
I work from home most of the time, so I can always read on my tablet.
>>
>>285160275
>since most scanlates and simulpubs are under 1600px tall.
Raws are typically 1920px and 2048px these days.
>>
>>285160255
I don't. Unlike you I actually enjoy it. Pic rel is what I've read since I picked this phone up last feb. PC is the worst way to experience manga period.
>>
>>285160322
Even if it's the worst way to read it, saying that it's the least fun thing to do on PC is fucking stupid and shitting on reading manga for no reason
>>
>>285160322
What exactly does that count? Titles, volumes, magazine issues, chapters split into a dozen parts?
>>
>>285160420
penis size
>>
>>285160315
Huh, maybe it is about time I "upgrade" to either a 4 years older device or a filthy 16:9 and have to cope with UI scaling.

>>285160420
Database entries.
With utoon it's parts of chapters.
With madokami it's volumes.
Page counter is would have been more accurate and universal counter.
>>
>>285158671
Yeah before going to bed and when commuting to work.
It's alright for staying up to date with the series I follow. The image might be small (I zoom and scroll around the page) but after mangadex etc. got purged (not to talk about thje AMR extension back in the days) Tachiyomi is by far the best experience for keeping track and staying up to date these days.
>>
>>285158671
fuck no, anybody who does that has no regard for the medium, reading on laptop (or any big screen) with 2 page format is the bare minimum in my eyes.
>>
>>285158671
I bought a tablet a month ago and going back to reading on a phone is just impossible.
>>
>>285158671
Not really, tho I did full reads of Fable and Dungeon Meshi. Mostly at work too.
More of a print and paper guy anyway (although hit some sort of a block as of late and didn't touch any of the ones I got myself in, like, 3 or 4 months).
>>

mostly, in landscape mode. i was thinking about getting a small tablet but i'm getting by so it's not a huge issue
if i'm at my home pc and i feel like reading, i read at the pc.
if i'm at work and don't feel like working, i read using my work laptop

around 27k chapters read according to mihon
>>
>>285158671
Only on my pc, I fucking hate phones and tablets.
>>
>>285160213
13" sounds like too much work, like at this point just use a laptop.
>>
>>285158671
yes. monitors are better but stationary. however, from personal experience i concluded that portability + mobility is significantly comfier for me, when it comes to media consumption. also, looking forward for 3-fold and rollable phone screens becoming the mainstream.
>>
>>285158742
I, too, read Hatarakanai Futari in the toilet every morning of monday
>>
>>285158972
I only watch movies/anime on walks nowadays.
It's extremely boring to attempt to do it at home and I keep alt tabbing.
>>
>>285161863
It's smaller than a piece of paper.
>>
>>285160537
Pages would still get distorted with magazines where you actually read two hundred pages out of thousand. Time invested should be the key.
>>
>>285158671
i read WSJ manga on my phone because they're generally not good enough to care whether the art is full quality or not.
>>
>>285162921
Have you considered not reading it?
>>
>>285162581
It's specifically a mihon screenshot, I'm not even sure any mihon extensions have full magazine rips not split by titles.
Time invested would be bloated by just leaving screen on while you are distracted by something.
>>
>>285163467
Doesn't Mihon include local sources?
>>
>>285160420
It's a complete mess that depends on the convention used by the sites the chapters are pulled from and doesn't really mean anything.
>>
>>285163467
If you don't flip a page for five minutes those five minutes and anything further won't count.
>>
>>285158671

I do not. Manga deserves a bigger screen. I do read some Manhwa on it because the format seems made for phones though.
>>
>>285158671
Yes. I travel for my job, so I have no choice but to phonepost.
