Whats the point in reading manga when anime, the superior product exists?
>>
>>285169945
The anime only covers the first few volumes.

Asking in a Sakurako thread.
I want to start exploring classic manga/gekiga but I don't know where to start because all of these old timers have such a large portfolio of works. Any recommendations of series to read from each of:
>Osamu Tezuka
>Go Nagai
>Matsumoto Reiji
>Shotaro Ishinomori
>Kazuo Umezu
please?

Proof?

>>285169945
You can read as fast or slow as you want. Also, no spoilers.
>>
>>285169945
The only objective advantages anime has over manga are color (sometimes manga have anyway) and voice acting. The art style is almost always sacrificed and the animation is generally worse than the paneling it adapts.

This, mangafags are mostly retards who can't read fast enough to keep pace with subtitles and piss and shit themselves if they already know what's going to happen
>>
i am projecting the entirety of the lucifer and the biscuit hammer anime into your mind
>>
>>285169945
Not every manga has an anime, and sometimes anime cut corners. The berserk anime in 2016 was a good example.
>>
Even if that were true, which is isn't, tons of manga never get anime.
>>
>>285169945
Anime adaptations can be botched to shit where the viewing experience is horrible.
Biscuit Hammer and OPM S3 are recent examples.

There are very few anime that ever actually matched the manga. And the ones that actually surpassed the manga are even rarer

I can name very few like
Jojo
AoT
Shinsekai Yori
KnY
Frieren
Aria: origination
Land of the Lustrous
Made in Abyss
Onimai
Zetsubou Sensei
And probably all 4-komas (Bad Girl, K-on, Gochiusa, etc)

Other than that, you'd really rather read the manga

The worst one I've seen goes to A Nobody's Way Up to an Exploration Hero
Like, holy shit. The art is jawdroppingly amazing
I am absolutely raging at the sheer difference and how the anime ruined it all.
The manga could have easily supassed Musukou Tensei in terms of popularity if only the anime adapted it instead of the LN
>>
>>285171357
>Shinsekai Yori
You have some decent examples there but Shinsekai Yori was a book first. You shouldn't count the manga.
>>
I wish the manga came with music. That's why I read VNs.
>>
>>285169945
The best manga series don't get an anime.
>>
>>285169945
If anime and manga were released concurrently, I would prefer the anime release, but sadly that isn’t the case.
>>
>>285174382
Are subtitle complainers just dubfags who have so little experience with native audio that they think the subtitle line is literally what the character said?
>>
>>285174511
take your meds, after you are done so, write exactly:
"I took my meds.", then you can answer my question: How do you justify translations being LLMslop without sounding mad?
>>
>>285174528
Whatever it is it's completely irrelevant to the quality of the anime itself so I don't know why you'd bring it up, unless you don't realize that anime comes from the foreign country of Japan and the subtitles are done by a third party and not the original creators
>>
>>285174639
Your post didn't begin with "I took my meds" so I'm not going to bother reading it.

>>285171357
There's also the Planetes anime which is superior to the manga, but yeah usually it's the other way for complex stories.
>>285172626
Usually I read the manga with the anime OST, or I make up my own OST from my music collection.

Manga is a good medium. Anime can be a great medium, but manga is the medium and shouldn't be taken lightly.
>>
>>285169945
The only thing anime has over manga is that you can see the story in motion with sound if you want a sensory experience outside of reading it. I’m not saying its inherently bad or that it can’t occasionally be better than the source material but there’s a lot of things that can go wrong
>usually has a dumbed down art style
>no guarantee that the animation is going to look good
>usually has to cut content for the sake of pacing
>unless it’s some hyper popular shonen or something it’s probably never going to cover the entire manga. Maybe the first couple volumes
>>
>>285169945
dunno I only read LNs now, my brain has better animation, voice acting and pacing than most modern anime and manga
>>
>>285177823
and my brain also has better writing so I don't even read anything
>>
It depends. The Frieren anime for example is just superior to the manga in every way, but then you have shows like Onimai where the anime adaption style of characters like Kaede is completely twisted and ruined.

Manga anime adaptions seem to generally be better and more, thoughever.
>>285177823
And LN adaptions are pretty much always worse.
>>
I don't read or watch anime

1. There is vastly more manga than anime in existance, and it's a farm more creatively free medium meaning there's a broader variety.
2.Anime adaptions are often inferior to the source material.
3. Originals are dead and even when they did exist see point No.1

When translated, does Manga get translated by the same localizeer freaks that translate (and ruin) anime?
