Just finished this. The series was so hyped but I thought it was a bit meh. So many asspulls happened to allow the story to take place. The government and all the security forces were extremely retarded just to give the villains a chance.
>>285172990Shit opinion
>>285173364Well it's also the truth. The government has literally immortal terrorists walking around and they can't even authorize tranq guns for 2/3 of the series? Why?They also can't get together more than like 30 people at any given time until Sato attacks a military base and cannot track anybody. Hell, they couldn't even stop him from going to an airport and boarding a plane even though he is literally the most infamous terrorist in the country.
anon discovers what happened to japan after ww2
>>285173642It's made pretty clear that all information around the immortal people walking around is being kept secret by every government on earth and out of the hands of your standard politician that's why they have those "research" facilities that's how the series starts you fucking speedreader
>>285172990I liked the main character being a massive douchbag
>>285173916You fucking retard, their existence is public knowledge. The only thing that's secret is the fact that they do human experiments on them in Japan cause the prime minister cut a deal with one of the big pharma CEO's. That has nothing to do with the government being extremely slow to react and incapable of mobilizing any large force to deal with immortal assassins.
>>285173974The public knows vaguely that they exist but nothing more, double retard
>>285174069There's nothing vague about it, faggot. The MC's public school teacher holds a class on their existence. There is a bounty system so popular that tons of people hunt the MC once he is revealed to be one.
>>285174085Yeah and that's all. the public has no idea what's going behind the scenes and that's my point when you say how the government is suddenly so retarded when they fight against something that is actually a closely held secret
>>285174144Are you ESL or what? What's kept secret are the experiments. Why would that affect their response time?
>>285174163Read faster
>>285174244Retard.
Yes, the writing is entirely secondary to putting in as many /k/-pilled epic bacon moments for people to post "BASED" or "ENTER" to (which isn't necessarily a bad thing).
>>285173660Japan was cucked on weapons way before ww2. Only the ruling class and their samurai were allowed to have weapons. If you were a commoner they could legally kill you for looking at them the wrong way. The whole subservient mannerism and being allergic to weapons goes way back in their society. Now they act like it's a badge of honor and not retarded cowardice.
>>285173642Just like Bin Laden. And it needed an inside job to gather more than 30 people to go after him
>>285172990Absolutely>good guys make 150 IQ plan>Enter Sato>good guys' IQ drops to 50Rinse and repeat until the end, when the writer decided that it was finally the time to win for the good guys. I have no idea why /a/ sucks off this manga so much
>>285174405It works in Ajin because Sato is such a lunatic and uses his immortality in ways nobody could possibly predict that it's reasonable things start falling apart
>>285173642Sato's existence as a terrorist is only known to a specific branch of the military that deals with ajin. And it's only in the capacity of raiding their research bases twice. They wouldn't be passing around his photo to every airport exactly. He doesn't even become the most infamous terrorist until after the plane attack and the killing of the swat team, at which point they then do switch to tranqs. Keep in mind that the portion of the govt who deals with ajin always used tranqs, we just don't see them actually directly fighting sato until the tower siege. Before that it's basically just mooks who don't know anything about ajin.
>>285174405Sato using his immortality to surprise people is basically the entire basis for the plot. We are shown very early on that Sato uses his immortality for crazier things than others and that he has a lot more knowledge about regeneration (such as when telling Kei that ajin can "die"). Time and time again he uses his years of experience fucking around with his immortality to use it in crazy ways. He uses it to teleport, to drill holes in walls, to regain stamina, to nullify tranquilizers, hell in the final fight he uses it to create a skin suit for a black ghost. Most of this wouldn't come to the knowledge of someone who basically just learned they are immortal and doesn't know the full extent of their ability yet.
>>285172990yeah I agree only Sato was fun
>>285174405Well yeah Sato is 450 IQ so it makes the good guys look 50 IQ in turn
>>285174405It's an edgy shounen series that got highjacked by the artist and converted into a 90s Hong Kong action film where every character is injected with 2x the healthy dose of testosterone. The story is just a series of ever expanding set pieces. It runs on adrenaline alone. I'm sorry, but this is one of those manga where I have to just call it "kino" and refuse to elaborate any further. Any potential weaknesses and flaws are mitigated by the fact that the most badass thing I've ever seen in my life happens nearly every chapter.
Aijin is what we in the business like to call operator slop
