Alright, I'll come clean with you guys. Season 2 wasn't that bad. It didn't have the magic of S1 nor the hype but it wasn't too bad
>>285187309It's okay, we all have bad taste sometimes
>>285187309Most of the characters were definitely meaner. I'm currently rewatching the first season, and all characters are at a bare minimum helpful. The bullying was exclusively in the threads.

>>285197034Didn't pick up any steam because of Amazon's fuckery, which made the threads comfy for its season if nothing else, if a little slow compared to KF in its prime

>>285186314They skipped season 2 and went straight to 3. It's a mobile game that currently lacks translation, but even if you can't read what's said, you can feel the heaviness of the circumstances.>Dhole sacrificing herself to knock a dangerous cerulean out of a helicopter, only for her to revive as a different Dhole who's just confused as to why everyone looks so sad around her>That time while we waited for the next chapter to come out where Dhole was not on the story screen. That shit hurt emotionally.>That time where Dhole regained her memories, the OP theme kicked in, and you fought the absolute hardest boss the game has had>That new story where Cerval took center stage>A new cerulean copied Cerval's form, creating what was essentially a black Cerval and being called Ruler Cell>The constant unknown if Ruler was actually a threat or just a goofy recurring villain>That point where Ruler fucking revived the Cerulean Queen from the first game, holy shit>That part where Ruler gets killed by Queen, and asks why as she fades away. RIP Ruler, you could've been a Friend...>Kako being there as Queen finally dies for real this time, like a dark past has finally been lifted>The current story where a girl visits Japari Park as a visitor>She gets into an accident and loses her sparkle, which also made her lose her voice, showing that humans can be affected just like friends>Going around Japari Park to help her find and regain her lost sparkle and voice>She goes super saiyan out of nowhere when her sparkle returns>I have no fucking clue what is going on now, shit's wild
>>285187115Absolutely love it. Profoundly good auteur series.https://files.catbox.moe/gq942j.webm
>>285184937>9 years oldNice, old enough to fuck
>>285197034No drama. It's a niche auteur series, it wasn't designed for mass appeal, and wasn't expected to receive it. It was made by someone who loved what he was doing, for people who loved what he was doing, and that's the best possible thing.
>>285198204I didn't follow the story of 3 closely but I visited the thread from time to time and I'm glad it's still being enjoyed. I got tired of /a/ only ever being mad all the time
>>285198496The general over in /vg/ is kind of dead, focusing more on bringing up art and the vtuber stuff, but there's at least one anon who gives game advice by translating new friends or posts what enemy teams do. It's not an ideal "alive", but it's definitely not dead.
>>285198496>>285198677It's not ideal but KF is doing well enough with its gatcha to be considered "alive" and it's still plenty beloved to this dayAlso I'm pretty sure the other gatcha it had is still running and even got a western release, so there's that.
I crave another show with characters like KF and Kemurikusa. There's something charming about a collection of characters that don't quite understand how to be human.
The threads when THAT episode aired were amazing.
>>285198737>The other gachaAnon, I have bad news. If you're referring to Pavilion;>Chinese gacha releases>It does poorly and dies off with a whimper>Re-releases strictly for Western audiences with most of the shitty aspects removed.. and the cop girl removed for some reason too>Does moderately better, and has a couple of updates>Then it stagnated. No updates at all.>It's only playable right now with zero chance of any actual updates comingPavilion is basically a zombie. All the other games got their EoS too. KF3 is the only one that's regularly maintained.
>>285198958I was actually talking about Kingdom, which is still alive from what I can tell. Still, they're alive, albeit in the loosest sense, which at this point I'm taking what I can get
>>285198204I haven't caught up to the current content but I like how they hinted at KF1 with fake boss saying along the lines of "if a cerulean outbreaks happens outside the park, none of you can come and fix it, how is humanity supposed to defeat them?"I hope they have the balls to make the final chapter or an eventual EOS event the mass extinction of humanity.
>>285197034I remember it doing fairly well, it did had the controversy momentum as well as airing the same season as KF2It was a remake of a doujin anime the director did many years prior and it was really nice to see it getting the chance to get completed
>>285199166I always appricated that about Tatsuki's KF. How it all but implies humanity is gone, and the friends, whether they know it or not, are basically picking up the pieces of a lost world. And Kaban is the last flickering ideal of humanity
>>285198677>all the gacha generals killed off my dead game completelyYou guys are lucky to still have a general

https://mangadex.org/title/8f94d1e9-eebf-475e-adaa-b3b998a318d5/kemono-friends-2Reminder that an author attempted to salvage the cursed season and did it infinitely better than what was animated.>Kyururu is actually a good kid who's worth rooting for>Serval is lovable as hell rather than just being a side character>Caracal's emotions and personality are fleshed out so much that she's easily best girl>Armadillo and Pangolin aren't idiots who hurt others for the sake of their goals>Amur Tiger isn't just some mindless rampaging moron who fucking dies to falling debris from the sky>The entire jungle arc, which was the slowest episode, gets skipped over almost entirely>Kaban's chapters are wholesome as hell with her acting like a big sister to Kyururu>Domestic Dog doesn't get brutally beaten and left on her own>The hotel plays out in a completely different way>Manga author doesn't shit on season 1 like the cursed anime did>GSKB bullying is the only thing from season 2 that remains unchanged, but is even better in the manga because of how smug Kyururu is about it. Easily my favorite page from the manga.
>>285203476I hate how difficult it is to maintain a collection of these. I have a giant playlist that just constantly gets pruned by dmca, some of my favorites link back to creators who have disappeared, who knows they've made that's been lost. I've had to internet archive to find and old favorite in the past, but it's only worked once. I've started just copying my favorites myself, but I can't share them if they do end up deleted. Even catbox is acting in a way that makes it seem like I may be blacklisted for sharing an otomad here. Or there are just spotty server issues and I'm being paranoid.

>>285187115Hell yeah
>>285211204Somehow I like KF but I can't get into Uma at all for some reason
>>285212111They're two entirely different things, that's why. Kemono Friends is about animals that look and act like girls in an environment that simulates natural habitats for said animals. The friends are individuals, but are very much a stereotype of their original animals to the point of having similar biological needs (such as being nocturnal, being overly cautious, being a pack leader, etc). It takes place on a fictional island that acts as a sort of reserve for an incredible amount of species, almost like Noah's ark. The Focus is split between education (viewers and players learn about actual animals in the world) and varying types of adventure. It also has the crazy aspects of aliens, human extinction, post-war life, and more, all very well meshed together in such a way that nothing really feels out of place, even though it abso-fucking-lutely is.On the other hand, Uma Musume is about girls who embody the spirits of notable race horses. The story heavily focuses on athleticism with a very out of place idol aspect slapped on. The characters only share the names and some personality traits of their inspirations, but even then the characters are characters before they are horses. All of these traits are interesting (debatable) on their own, but the way it's mixed together can be off-putting. You may not be interested in the sport aspect, the idol aspect, or the horses in general, and the supporting aspects don't help one another. I don't want to sound like I dislike Uma Musume, but speaking as someone who has given the series an honest try (first two seasons and the mobile game prior to global launch), it's vastly different from Kemono Friends. The only similarities are the fact that they're cute girls with animal features.
>>285212415Well technically both are gacha games, I've never played both but I remember KF dearly, now with Uma I can't seem to get into it for some reason.
>>285191907Akiba's Trip was half-and-half, people wanted something different from the source and got that, but weren't happy.Urara took some time to get going but was very cute, I was initially filtered by the first episode.Nyanko Dykes.Ai Mai fucking Mii.Pretty stacked yeah.

Did that guy ever finish the 3D kemono friends game? I'm guessing not due to the drama
kemono friends was the best moment i had on /a/. nothing else compares
Mine Yoshizaki still hasn't posted on his twitter since the fallout.
>>285222182A lot of people dropped projects they were working on due to the fallout. The only big fan project that I can think of that released post Kadokawa was the fighting game.
>>285222182This game started long after the thing happened and is still being worked on.
>>285222203The week between 11 and 12 was unbelievable.
>>285222203Didn't /can/ happen that same year? That was fun.
>>285222466/can/? What was that
>>285222393What made it especially amazing is that most of /a/ didn't pay much attention to it. Threads were basically dead up until around episode 4 when it started gradually picking up, then it became #1 thread on /a/ and even mods were contributing
>>285212415I disagree with this evaluation, mostly the uma parts. The characters share personality traits of the actual horses to an almost autistic degree. Its just not very in your face about it but if you dig into the character quirks, you'll see its always tied to something the real horses did.The idol aspect is also not randomly tacked on. Horse races have award ceremonies afterward, whether or not it should be idol performances is simply a matter of opinion but its not even a big part of the series, unless you want it to be (which is the best way to handle it).Definitely KF and Uma are two very different series. Uma is a sports series thats hyper autistic about Japanese horse racing, KF is anime National Geographic (how accurate it is about the animals depends on whos in charge). Uma is hyper specific about a hyper specific genre of horses, KF is specific about animals in general. Not everyone will like both but I think its undeniable that Uma filled the power vacuum that was left after the Kadokawa drama. Uma S1 was more of a KF2 than the actual KF2 was in a weird sort of way.
>>285216656praisePresumably he's still working on a full series, on his(their) own time, just going at their own pace. tatsuki gets tapped to do a lot of little contributions, like these New Years Hentatsu segments they do appear on actual TV on New Years Eve, which is an extremely prestigious time. Rather than go out to party many Japanese gather as families and watch the TV specials all night, all the stars come out.
KF is still the only anime that I bought the entire bluray set + OST + artbook for
>>285222676That was the best part. Completely organic hype that was rare back then and completely unheard of now. I remember seeing this exact thread, clicking through the first episode, and scoffing as I headed to work only to realize weeks later it would be one of the greatest anime ever made.
>>285222676i remember abib was pretty assblasted about KF for some reason
>>285221086he did an animation for Hololive in 2023 and designed the cover for Comitia 150's cataloguefull focus seem to be on his project announced in like 2022/2023This is from the last Hentatsu:>So how's the progress?>If you could please patiently wait for it...
>>285222676ramblepost incomingThe consistency of "the pattern" is what's so amazing about this series. The first episode was just total meme fuel. It didn't get as much immediate attention here as it did natively, but it picked up pretty quickly. Then the second episode was still charming, and even had some additional janky animation, that "cutouts" scene where they just through out other character names. Just a sense of "lmao what is this weird kids show". But then there's a little hint, Jaguar running her little ferry service, that's like.. it doesn't register just yet, but a little spark that there's something going on here starts to take hold. Then episode 3 is Toki and it's just, holy shit, you're bowled over that this is actually something really special. And then there's all these perfectly subtle details of how the park is presented, that kind of "loneliness" that both captures the spirit of nature while reflecting on the first game that had already ended before the series was produced, but Kaban's growth across each episode paralleling the development of mankind (taming fire, song&music, cooking/agriculture, reading, etc). And on top of this is the incredibly potent nostalgia getting triggered in that it's actually "A show for kids--for adults", the cover design mimicking National Geographic and calling to mind Zoobooks, the "educational segments" on the eyecatch.. the whole thing is just stupendous. The first few notes of this song still hit me like a punch in the guthttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nPEVQ-e_Jac
>>285222658April Fools lumping of boards together, /c/ and /an/ worked quite well with each other.
>>285222676>What made it especially amazing is that most of /a/ didn't pay much attention to it. Threads were basically dead up until around episode 4 when it started gradually picking upNo one did, at first.
Not that gdgd fairies isn't awesome too
mods were banning people for saying they didnt like KF lol
>>285222893#1 views on nico#1 in salesit was basically #1 in literally every category during its peak
>>285222926Dude, they had to scramble for merchandise to sell. The idiots in charge didn't realize what they had, even when they covered S1's production costs by selling KF washbasins.
Also the bridge between /a/ and 2chan was super cute>that same parallel with everyone screaming at the same time in both countries during the last two episodes
>>285222926Also the theme song just demolishing everything.
>>285222960even kf2 was fun with 2ch
Kemono friends is a good reminder of just how bad the anime industry is. It hasn't really changed for the better either. With kadokawa's deal, Yaoyorozu would've been royally fucked. I don't remember the details, but Yoshizaki was the main reason everything went to shit. He wanted to replace Tatsuki.
>>285223070i just don't understand how any KF fan could stomach watching season 2 after what happened.
>>285223091The only pleasure KF S2 offered was seeing Kemurakusa walk all over it in the ratings.
>>285223091I couldn't make it past a couple episodes, so I just blanked it. I didn't like that we couldn't ever talk about KF on /a/ anymore without it just descending into rage.I'd visited collab cafes and zoos in Japan during KF1's peak and everyone was having so much fun, is just felt so shitty to constantly trample over their feelings and constantly bring up how it was bad now
I thought I'd moved on after 9 long years and be calm reading these threads BUT I'M STILL SO FUCKING MAD AND SAD GOD DAMMITCAN YOU IMAGINE HOW MUCH POTENTIAL KEMONO FRIENDS COULD HAVE? BUT THEN THEY THREW IT ALL TO THE FUCKING INCINERATOR AND IT'S TOO FUCKING LATE TO BACK UP ANYMORE. EVEN IF TATSUKI WERE TO COME BACK TO FIX SHIT MIRACULOUSLY IT PROBABLY WOULDN'T BE AS MAGICAL AS IT WAS WHEN THE ANIME FIRST AIRED. Niconico cafeThe wall was "photos ok" which is nice, there's a lot of stuff like this that never makes it to the internet though. During the Kemurikusa collab cafe at a different place, there were instead books that everyone could draw pictures or write notes in, and if you don't want to draw anything you can still just take them back to your table and flip through them if you like. But since there's sometimes personal information they ask people not to take photos of them. So there's just a wealth and wealth of Japanese fan doodles and loveletters that never sees a jpeg.
>>285223596Literally the only good thing to come out of that trash.
>>285223634i made a no country for old men edit if anybody ever saved it at the time, can't seem to find it.

at this point I'm just happy it happened, I hold no grudges anymore
Its been a day and a half and we cant even get 200 posts. KF threads used to hit bump limits in an hour. No one even remembers this show anymore despite being the biggest anime of the 2010s...
>>285224527Most of the people who remember aren't on /a/ anymore, and the ones that are aren't often expecting a KF thread to appear.
>>285224639>Most of the people who remember aren't on /a/ anymoreThats the sad part. We always joke that 'you're here forever' but its often times not the case.KF doesnt get new fans either since there isnt hype to push them through the show looking "icky".
>>285224680I neither grieve for modern anime "fans" nor modern anime. Even in its day there were some people who just couldn't open their mind to alternative and niche art styles, even (especially) when they're intentionally chosen to evoke specific emotional states, which is the whole benefit of symbolic story representation in the first place. The idea that every anime needs to look like hyper overbudgeted 6 billion yen all-sakuga-all-the-time 60fps fight closeups or else it's "bad animation" is just a limited worldview I can't begin to associate with.
Kemurikusa s2 when?
>>285212111Same, I never had an interest in Umamusume because, as others here mentioned, it feels like idolslop to me.
>>285226549That's exactly what it is. If you've played Azure Lane/Blue Archive, it's the same exact formula except horse girls.
>>285226724Never played those, but at least I do like some girls in buruaka because their design is cute (a lot better than uma or any other gacha game). The gameplay doesn't seem compelling at all.
>>285223330
>>285226724Umamusume leans more in the sports shonen cliches, and horse history autism, then tacks on the idol stuff at the end. The gameplay itself is an unironic slot machine, but the ability to manipulate it to some extent is what clicked for Japan That said, Cygame’s willingness to delay it for years to change course and fine tune it was admittedly risky and a miracle that it paid off

>>285227610What a little striped slug
>>285198204Shit, I didn't even realise it had a plot because every time I opened the threads everyone was just posting maid outfits and bikini lewds. I was super active in the Pavilion general when it existed, I kept the Friend library on my phone right up until the battery died. ;__;
glad I caught this threadI remember seeing posts about this on /a/ in 2017 but I didn't watch much anime at the time. I eventually went back and watched it after playing srb2kart years later and finding someone had sprited serval for the game. It sucks the only new stuff is gacha, but seeing people still making art and the S1/S2 continuations in manga format were really nice. There's something undeniably wholesome and happy about seeing friends be friends.

>>285232385Cute birds
>>285233112Yes. Yoshizaki did not like Tatsuki being in control. That is why he abandoned his social media and lost all fan support. That's not something someone uninvolved does. What's shitty is that he didn't give a damn who worked on KF until it blew up. I guess he got what he deserved considering it basically ended his career.
>>285233112The answer is no, it is not actually confirmed.>>285233414has no idea what he is talking about, he is only repeating the popular suppositions and hearsay. No one has any way of know what actually happened, we only know the few scraps of outward behavior each party did.Supposition is not "confirmation".
>>285233414>ended his career.Keroro gunsou is getting a movie and the anime a remake. And isn't the manga still ongoing, too? That doesn't sound like a 10 on the career-death scale.
>>285233515Obviously we will never get 100% solid confirmation because that'd blacklist Yoshizaki even more than he already is, but there was more than enough evidence to show he was the reason the deal fell through.
>>285233555Keroro isn't remotely comparable to KF. He was working on that before KF. His legacy has already been tarnished. Nothing he does now will really matter.
>>285233555These feel more like desperate move to stay relevant than anything else honestly
>>285229432THANK YOU SIR
>>285233640Uhhhhhh. Dude, I like Kemono Friends too, and it was a sensation for a year or two, but Keroro Gunso is like two orders of magnitude more successful. It's not even close. Keroro has tens of millions in sales. It has five fucking films and is getting a sixth. Come on, man.>Nothing he does now will really matter. This statement really means nothing at all. Feelings != reality.
>>285233687Stay relevant? More like he needs it to pay his bills. To be clear, I don't think Mine is this evil person that deserves to rot. He just made a poor decision not allowing Tatsuki do his thing. The guy even removed Tatsuki from his Twitter. It was painfully obvious it was personal.
>>285233892The point is that KF would've been infinitely more successful than Keroro. Keroro had 13 years over KF, so of course it was successful, but it wouldn't have compared at all to KF if they let it thrive.> It has five fucking filmsNearly all of Keroro's content came way before KF existed.
>>285233895The man has more then enough Keroro money to set him up for life. There's no reason to make a reboot anime and movie other than it to say in the public eye
>>285233687>getting a film is a "desperation move"You realize people don't just get a film because arbitrarily decide they want one, right? This is determined by multiple investment companies and media corps. They don't give movies to people whose careers are "over". There are lots and lots of people and decisions involved in this process. I know you're angry and want to get "revenge", but Keroro is inarguably popular and successful and the vast majority of Japanese viewers do not share the same eternal oath of jihad as you do, or are likely even aware of what transpired.
>>285234028Maybe, maybe not. Either way, your assessment is based in emotion, not facts.
>>285234055Yes. Keroro is an established brand and companies everywhere now are creativly bankrupt. This doesn't change it being a desperate move, it just gives reasons for it existing
>>285234055NTA, but getting a movie from an IP that has been around for 20+ years isn't as big a deal as you are making it out to be, especially an IP that already has 5 prior films. That just means they know it's guaranteed to make some money therefore they will continue to milk it.Also, companies deciding to fund movies can most certainly be seen as a desperation movie if they feel the movie will make the IP more relevant.
>>285235785gohan
>>285233892>Keroro Gunso is like two orders of magnitude more successfulWASEveryone already left MineEvery otaku with money is still pissed about KF. Keroro is doomed, just like KF2 and Shacibato

2 is overhated; the latter shorts are cute. 2 just had shittier deep lore, it being a soft reboot didn't take away the enjoyment for the episodic plots, but the dick riders for the original guy can't admit it. I say all this as someone actually there on day 1 and not some bandwagoning faggot
>>285234055>This is determined by multiple investment companies and media corps. They don't give movies to people whose careers are "over".Aya still gets VA roles even after her reputation completely tanked after Haruhi. They really dont care.
>>285237885She still gets roles but its weird. She gets worse the more professional she becomes. The "new seiyu moe" thing is real.
>>285240190Wouldn't it be better to just bring food at that rate?
>>285240423I'm sure you only liked KF because of the moe aspects. KF2 doesnt accurately portray animals in an accurate or interesting way that the first season did. Everything was surface level>haha seals like to play with balls, right?>ducks herd everything!>Roadrunner's BEEP! shirtThe only thing they got right was Caracal being bitchy but that was part of her character from the start and not creative inspiration from Tomason. Tatsuki clearly knows a lot and cares about animals. The writer of KF2 clearly hated dogs.

>>285187309S1 felt like its own thing you could watch for fun even as an adult. To me S2 felt like it dropped any and all effort and just became fucking dora the explorer the anime. I couldn't get past a few episodes in because all the characters were beyond beyond retarded. Like literal baby show.
>>285237108Mine’s name barely has any relevance to his own IP anymore except with the most dedicated fans who still follow the manga, the brand’s popularity is entirely from the anime and Japan is more likely to associate the series with the original voice cast than they are with him, which is why them getting replaced for the reboot is way more likely to cause controversy than whatever bullshit happened with KF almost a decade ago that most people either memory holed or weren’t aware of to begin with. >>285267987Only way it could have been worse is if Serval and Caracal showed up to help Tiger beat up Dog.
It really is nothing short of a small miracle Kemono Friends not only was as good as it was, but people agreed it was good or the very least admitted it was better than it had a right to be.Even the CG, micro budgeted as it was, still finds a way to ooze charm and show how much Tatsuki cared about the project, world, and characters.I honestly can't think of anything modern it compared to. Especially in this day and age where people shit on an anime for the smallest animation error.
If there's one thing I've learned out of all of this is that Japanese Business Politics will literally choke the golden goose with it's bare-hands if it means not having to admit guilt, fault or if it's an attempt to save face. You couldn't ask for a more profitable franchise. I never watched season 2. What exactly did it do to shit all over the first season and director? What are some examples?
>>285268152Story starts off with Servant not remembering Kaban, cut to Kaban living on the iskand she left at the end of the last series with the owls for some reason Kaban has a desk drawer full of "Lucky's" that are disposable since it turns out he's not really their friend I guess, fans took it personally the way roadrunner was shit on by Kyururu not drawing her at the end of the episode, domestic dog which has been waiting for humanity for thousands of years since humanity died off gets SHIT ON in the worst way in the series, mauled by a tiger to protect the first human she meets in thousands of years, getting told she's weak, the human she saved honestly forgot she existed seconds after she saved her, human tells her to go back home (basically fuck off), and domestic dog goes back to wait for humanity which will never arrive since humans died off thousands of years ago. Even when the meet again Serval doesn't remember Kaban, plus materials say that the island Kaban went to after the series didn't have anything on it and the rest of humanity was dead, so they just came back and their entire journey was pointless. They imply at the end that Serval was always Kyurur's friend before Kaban, and her liking Kaban was merely because she remembered Kyururu. And as soon as Kyuru came back she didn't care about Kaban anymore. The series is no longer about "each friend has their own abilities, their own strengths and weaknesses" instead Serval can just go SSJ and easily beat stronger animals, since there is no logic to individual strengths and weaknesses anymore. If you can enter Wild Mode you're just stronger than other animals. Wild mode was a thing in the original series but it was more open about how it worked, it wasn't just SSJ. Just every episode is a middle finger to the original series, the tone is entirely wrong, every episode is spiteful towards the Friends and not fun at all. Tiger dies at the end.
>>285268160Anon forgot to mention that after the climax Kaban remarks that Kyuru and Serval make a great team. She then meekly comments that she and Serval also used to make a great team. The theme from season 1 plays as Serval reacts with confusion and bids her goodbye while Kaban sheds some tears. It was just perfectIts not perfect in the sense that its the greatest thing to ever happenIts perfect in the sense that it knows what it is, every element fits together, the messages are simple and well conveyed, it doesn't talk down to the audience, its easily accessible for all ages, its a golden story that has every element seemingly in harmony, even if its made on literally no budget at all. The characters are endearing, the story is endearing, it makes you care about it without coming off as forced. Its like an actor that goes on stage, does exactly what he's meant to do in the best way he can, and leaves just as soon as he came, leaving everyone wanting more.It had real attention to detail, inbetween story segments they even gave facts about animals, for the briefest moments it actually made people give a shit about animals and conversation efforts, by attaching cute anime girls to it. Zoos and conservation actually saw a major increase due to this anime, only to be destroyed due to an egotistical production company that didn't actually want this anime to succeed so they had to kill it off.

Dude, even without what happened to the creator most people still went into the series hoping it would at least scratch the itch they had wanting more Kemono Friends.By the episode where the dog gets mauled to death, and then told to fuck off, the fans were sick of this shit. That was the moment it was irredeemable. Literally dog get mauled protecting human from a tiger, told she was weak, human immediately stopped caring she existed seconds after she got mauled while she was still bleeding out, and then they just told dog to go home by itself. Half of the episodes were written like they actually hated certain Kemono Friends.Nevermind Kaban getting cucked, Serval not remembering her, Kaban's entire journey being rendered meaningless, and Serval's REAL friend being the shitty MC of season two retroactively and she only liked Kaban due to seeing her as the season 2 MC.
>>285268413>Nevermind Kaban getting cucked, Serval not remembering her, Kaban's entire journey being rendered meaningless, and Serval's REAL friend being the shitty MC of season two retroactively and she only liked Kaban due to seeing her as the season 2 MC.Holy fuck, I'm glad I dropped that garbage halfway through the second episode.Kaban is my favorite, and her relationship with Serval was one of my favorite things about the show.
>>285268413and honestly, I think fans would be way more receptive to season 2 if they didn't just shove Serval into the main party for no reason. If they just had new girl and Carcal traveling together in the same way Serval and Kaban traveled together. Just don't purposefully try to fuck with fans of season one and it would have been marginal at least. But the retards in the marketing department went "NOOOO Serval is the popular one, we gotta shove her into the main cast, and we gotta say she never loved Kaban when we do it".
>>285268440didnt they also fire the rest of the staff who sided with the 1st director?this whole situation is beyond retarded lmao

>>285268413>Dudeif you paid attention to the stuff behind the scenes, you would have already known that you shouldn't watch S2 at all way before it started airing
>>285268496Vast majority of people cannot/refuse to simulate the outcome of things based on available information. The basic thought process of "there are actual feces in this room, therefore; if I enter it, it'll smell horribly" isn't there. Some of them will tell you "maybe it won't be so bad" or "maybe it's not really there" to try and rationalize their indulgence, and will only accept it AFTER the fact, while pretending they knew it would happen all along. This is partially the reason I detest being in active online fandoms -- this process gets perpetuated so often it becomes incredibly tiresome.
>>285268510No Anon, I never touched KF S2 either. Well no, I did watch the dog episode just to see for my own eyes how bad it was (it made a lot of commotion when it came out, understandably). But other than that I already knew S2 was a waste of time. I have no pity for the people who went in wanting to "give it a chance" when it was clear it never deserved one.

That would involve them admitting that they fucked upAnd a continuation of S1 would still get shat on unless they brought back Tatsuki which would involve them admitting that they REALLY fucked up
Kadokawa are retarded. That's why.
Seven years later and this shit is still the biggest scandal in the anime industry in recent years. Something that single-handedly spawned a cultural phenomenon quickly died off.I haven't watched S2 but I wonder how it would be if you look past your bias against it, though? Like, seeing it as it is.
>>285268682it's... okaythere's some good ideas and some bad ideas and the whole thing just kinda falls flat stumbling over itselfthe character designs are still cute though, for all his faults Mine's hard work on that shone through, which is why it hurts to watch

>>285268701>Banished From Hero Party But I Am Actually The Strongest
>>285268347All controversies will eventually disappear, especially if its inconvenient to keep being outraged. Kadokawa owns so many series that you'd basically have to give up anime and manga as a whole do avoid them. Most people dont have that kind of will power.

Imagine running a promising new IP to the ground because you were jealous of the fact that someone else who you hired with the expectation to fail at the project actually succeeded and did it better than you ever could. Instead of swallowing your pride and just handing over leadership of the project to him while you still retained the IP rights and could make money off of it, you decide to fire the guy who was responsible for the series' success and insist that your vision is still the better one.
>>285268736It seem petty as fuck because not only he was taking a dump on the director and team of S1 but all the fans and viewers that made the popularity possible in the first place. I doubt he even attempted to apologize about it.Dude deserves to be hounded for his shit decisions for the rest of his career, though judging by the quality of S2 it will never recapture or out-shadow what was S1.

Uma Musume stole the "new touhou" king's crown KF was holding at the time, KF won't recover to the powerhouse it was even if they will prostrate, apologize, return Tatsuki and pretend only S1 ever existed.
>>285268786
>>285268856Let's be honest, once the Tatsuki shit went down it was never going to happen.Umamusme is good in its own right, and if we had to pass the tourch, it's comforting and fitting it went to another kemonomimi franchise
>>285268856UMA PYOIUMA PYOI
>>285268856Nothing's going to be the New Touhou if it was corporately backed from the getgo and doesn't have anything beyond just one group

>>285268529>>285268539There was such a good video documenting the entire KF2 fallout and the staff's Twitter meltdowns edited to the tune of LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOR but the creator took it down.
It still bugs me out the thing with the audio drama and the extra episode, you see the extra episode is labeled as 12.1 and the audio drama is 12.4Something doesn't add up, where are 12.2 and 12.3?
>>285268896This was very funny
>>285268098>The franchise is worthless trash without Tatsuki, trying to replace him is like trying to make a Castle in the Sky 2 without Miyazaki. So, basically you are saying that Nadia the secret of the blue water is trash.
i'm still angry, but at least we got kemurikusa out of it.
Stop making these threads just to make me angry, cry, and murderous against the niggers that killed Kemono Friends..
>>285268934Tatsukifags, why isn't kemurikusa popular anymore either?
>>285268955It's been pointed out many times in the past; irodori made it clear weed smoke was a single, self contained story and there would be no more seasons. It's not like it lost any popularity, just no reason to discuss it anymore.
>>285268963Many "single self-contained stories" still get the occasional threads like lainNobody talks about kemu anymore and when a kemu thread is posted once in a while it's not even an actual kemu thread but a thinly veiled Tatsuki worship thread
>>285268856It's funny how Uma Musume also fucked everything up by asking people to not make lewd content because fuck you we're being paid by rich old men and they choose the rules. Meanwhile there's this guy who loves Tsuchinoko so much that he's still making lewd doujins with her.I still remember the futa doujin that came out like at the same time KF was announced dead. Poor unlucky timing. But great doujin nonetheless

Personally, I think the entire franchise was always meant to be a failure from the getgo, in order for some convoluted scheme to hide investor money, like in The Producers. But then it actually became successful, and that's actually bad.
I miss the whole gang
>>285269199You might've been right. But that pesky Tatsuki had to go and put effort and soul into it, because he had a genuine passion for the art and storytelling.
>>285269199It's also interesting that the studio's artistic philosophy is pretty much the opposite of most of the industry. Feels like something that was really born from the Internet era, like people who made all those Vocaloid stuff and so on.
>>285269232Well, you are not far off, after all Yaoyorozu was literally made via recruiting Internet and doujin niche creators, for example, Tatsuki was first contacted by producer Fukuhara with a tweet asking if he could greet him at Comiket, with Tatsuki replying to it and accepting the request.https://twitter.com/fukuhara_ystd/status/279418287442522112
