Ryuuji should have met his father. He never met him, and never had a confrontation or the chance to reconcile with him, the way Taiga did with her own dad.That matters because Ryuuji's entire personality is built around compensating for a broken family. He had to COPE with the fact that his mother is a "hostess" (prostitute), and he allows himself to be abused by Taiga because she was the first person to give him a crumb of affection. Quite honestly, Ryuuji should have met his dad and made peace with him. Perhaps there could have been a fight scene, even if Ryuuji lost and got his ass beaten, at least there would have been a resolution.
