I'm getting really sick of this style of anime writing where characters just explain things constantly, it's like its made for genuine babies that can't keep up. The shows never trust us to be actual adults and remember things without flashing back or explaining.Am I just watching bad shows or shows below my age bracket or something?
>>285225114well shonen is intended for japanese children and teens, adults stick with it because they either grew up with it, or its simple enough to enjoy while you're on a commute to work, so those particular shows keep that formula. although in HxH, the fights are meant to have an analytical component to keep you in suspense. with other series/genres, i guess it depends, it can be padding for animation budget or there to add more characterization

>>285225224Now Yotsuba, THAT'S a series for adultsBut unironically, genuinely, it's fantastic
In HxH whenever it uses shonen tropes it's because it's being a subversive deconstruction
>>285225114stop watching shonenslop, retard
>>285225263Trvth
>>285225263HxH is a generic shonenslop.
>>285225296No it isn't, it's the most well written deconstruction of shonen ever madeIt's the Evangelion of shonen and it isn't even finished
>>285225220Wait until you realize "anime for grown ups" doesn't actually exist.
>>285225325Yes it does
>>285225321>its a gold medalist in the special olympics
>>285225343Filtered by the complexity of the Chimera Ant arc huh? Don't worry kid, perhaps Dragon Ball is more your speed
>>285225114Maybe you should read Shonen like Chainsaw Man that doesn't do this?|
>>285225263Never change, HxHtard
>hxh is somehow not generic and it's an epic deconstruction because uh it does everything shounen does anywayI don't get people
>watch shows for babies>complain that the writing is for babiesOP you are one the stupidest motherfucker I've ever met, and I've met a lot of OP's
