A point of a dub is to dub it as straight as you can like you can change lines to fit better maybe add in a funny joke if it doesn't effect anything and if it a comedy show you can go all out but the over all product should the same personality for characters, same plot and tone as the Japanese. Like dubs or not dubs should be overall the same experience as watching the Japanese in terms of how the show plays out no matter the quality of the acting. People who struggle with reading, kids, blind folks, mental people and other who watch dubs for whatever reason deserve almost the same product as someone who watches JP, changes will always happen but should be minor.
