How do you feel about mangaka that utilize tracing?
>>285233953I dont give a fuck, only beg and crabs care about it.
tracing photos you take or stuff you purchase license to is perfectly finetracing over other people's work without permission isn't
Doesn’t Shinichi Sakamoto make all the things he traces? That’s fine and isn’t stealing.
>>285235136He makes his male assistants dress up in female clothing for reference lmao. (source:the nhk episode on him)
>>285233953no rules just tools!
>>285236462god I wish that was me
>>285233953Shinichi doesn’t trace
>>285233953I don't mind tracing except for Sakamoto and THAT :O face he puts on every fucking character.
>>285238417>THAT :O face he puts on every fucking characterWhat the fuck are you talking about tranny?
>>285238526You must be blind.

>>285236704He literally showed his entire process which involves dressing up his assistant, taking a photo, importing it into his computer and tracing over it. Once he's finished he breaks up the assets like hair, lips, etc. and saves them so they can be copy pasted for reuse.
Sakamoto is creating something with a high level of realism and detail. He wants a certain feel to be conveyed to the reader, and it's understandable if his team has to cut a few corners to create that motif under deadline. Compare and contrast to later volumes of Seishokuki, where Inamitsu is tracing what look like Persona assets in Garry's Mod. Most of the time the pixels aren't even bothered to be smoothed over.
>>285233953It's the oldest and most common technique in art, why do you expect me to have any particlar feelings about it?
>>285239103>me impersonating an average Baki character's expression
>>285239103>>285233953>>285238526>>285239343>Blue Steel?>Ferrari?>Le Tigre!?>they're the SAME THING!
>>285233953They are miserable hacks. But somehow, tracing is good for AI haters, because it's human that's copying, not AI algorithm, kekw.
>>285244218>trying to trace someone's artwork>they used Glaze so my arm keeps spasming and I can't use a pencilFrom the depths of proompting arose troocing.
>>285243887Inamitsu is a better artist than Hiroya Oku
>>285233953If it looks good who cares
>>285244276Well, I'm not a tracer, but if you want to trace by hand, then you either need to have a lot of time and devotion, or just pick up the right tools, brushes, shit like that.
