>>285236395I'd say it watch it for completion's sake, unfortunately S4 and the final movie were rushed due to being cut down from two planned 13-episode seasons down to a 12-episode season and a 90 minute movie, but they still manage to hit the key points despite that. A damn shame about the demons though, all the new demon characters introduced in S4 including the Demon King really suffered from the cut and probably lost at least half a season worth of screen time.

What really helped them though was their character interactions and screentime though, I think Azibelpher had a bit of that, but his end was kinda unsatisfying although it did tie into his whole deal about resolving to not use time magic to cheat at life anymore due to it leading to his current boring meaningless existence. Azibelpher should have used more magic in that last fight. Locust and Maou definitely suffered though, they needed more character interactions outside of giving orders to their underlings, but Locust's end was satisfying for me.

In a way nothing seemed to pose a challenge to the main characters and the results became very predictable. Characters even seemed to break established trends, such as duck killing multiple people, despite him having a no-killing policy before as he doesn't believe in actually removing evil. It seemed done just to advance the ending.

In the same sidestory when Kguy asks him if he's squeamish about murder, he claims it's only a preference that he avoids killing if possible. Although the sidestory wasn't written by Urobuchi, he expressed that he did want to adapt it plus it's referenced in S3 with the whole Kguy flesh doll thing and the first encounter between Duck and Kguy, and Urobuchi decided to have Duck killing with his own hands so it's likely his canon stance (Duck's preference, but not a code he'll die by).

How popular did Thunderbolt Fantasy end up being?I'd love if it started a trend of more mature dramas with flawed MCs and multiple POV characters. I think I recall in one S3 interview, Urobuchi mentioned the Taiwanese team going to Japan and looking at nude dolls to film scenes involving nudity like when Kguy stripped down, but I think they just went with CGI or something.
