It’s already popular, and the manga still sells. Giving it an amazing anime adaptation seems like a waste of resources, especially considering that most of the hype has died down. Kimetsu seems like the outlier to this rule, when most other series get amazing first seasons and mediocre/serviceable follow-ups.
