Hozoin vs Jinsuke is a fight I think stands in the top 3 of the first round easily and definitely put a lot of goodwill back into the readership. >>285248752The way I see it. The leadup to the tournament was the most interesting part because it was also when the worm sub-plot was also banging away on all cylinders. Ghost being killed and replaced was great because it introduced Nitoku and the Falcon as competent characters. Jose was a great way to prop up Yumigahara while still giving the impression that A-ranked gladiators were a big deal in a matchup against a kengan elite since Yumi's arm got broken. And the worms were actually mysterious and somewhat intimidating with Xia constantly lurking in the background and new worms being revealed in increasingly deeper levels of infiltration. I do agree that Purgatory's actual fighters are very calm with each other. But that also makes sense given their organization is overall more chill.
