Do we know exactly what makes a good vessel for the Lesser Grail? I know Irisviel, Illya, Sakura, and Shinji were all vessels, if I'm not mistaken. The first 3 were good fits, but the last became a fat blob that made mud spit out. But Shinji seemed to be a last minute choice by Gilgamesh, Kirei wanted to make Rin a vessel. Can we presume that she would have made an acceptable one? It's the series where Shirou is the protagonist, where that one Apocrypha protagonist is also a dumb retard who has no clue what they're doing, where Kerry is arguably one of the best mage-killers in a war where he should be able to relatively eliminate masters well enough but finds himself fucked over solely because of some weirdo guy who got saved by supernatural forces and a corrupted grail. I'm not saying its good writing. I'm just saying that I think Narita understands what makes Fate work. There is not much in terms of writing opportunity for a clan of people either. Narita has no concept of restraint and I find it somewhat questionable that he'll be able to resolve everything in just one volume. Sigma is supposed to become the final Servant, but he doesn't seem to have actually made too much headway on that department. This means that if his story is to reach its conclusion, he'll have to awaken to, understand and master all of his abilities in a single volume.
