Cool. creative powers are mostly useless in real heroic applications. It's why such powers are never META in video games ever.

>>285302136Basic powers are more reactive and lead to more varied fights. Give the MC a cool long-ranged skillset instead and see what happens. Melee opponents have to rush into melee range or they pose no threat. Ranged opponents produce sniper vs sniper snoozefests. Write a dozen fight scenes like that without getting painfully repetitive.It's great to see it done well, but the artists who can't make basic powers fun will mess up even worse with weird ones.
