Average-rated anime that I watched in my childhood still make me feel more emotion than any "10/10 peak fiction" I watch as an adult

>Hayate the Combat Butler
Screwball action/romcom and a tsundere FMC
>Yakitate! Japan
Goofball comedy + competitive shonen
>Prince of Tennis
Ridicuous sports action and tons of charismatic characters
>Shakugan No Shana
Another great tsundere series
>Tears to Tiara
Extremely satisfying fantasy adventure, LOTR tier in my pubescent brain
>Darker than Black
Edgelord as fuck
>Baccano
Blew my mind
>Le Chevalier d'Eon
Zombies in pre-Revolutionary France
>Nuraihyon no Mago and Spooky Kitaro
Loved the monster designs
>Nodame Cantabile
Great music

Your anime sucks, /qa/ girl.

Yeah I suppose Darker Than Black, Baccano and Nodame Cantabile don't deserve to be called "average rated", sorry

That shit getting called "peak fiction" is Jump trash for children so you shouldn't really be surprised.

It's not just rose-tinted glasses, it's reality. I remember good anime I watched when I was a kid, but even at the beginning of adulthood, when I started college, there were still good anime out there.
I remember being in my first year when Excel Saga premiered on Animax PT. To this day, it's an anime that makes me laugh a lot, even though I've watched it 10 times or more over the years, lol.
I can't remember any other anime that has made me laugh more than once with the same joke, much less one that has made me laugh more than 10 times.
Yes, it's an anime considered "mediocre" or even "bad" by most of the faggots here, but for me it's better than any "peak" released nowadays.

Excel Saga is great. I remember when Nabeshin made a cameo in Hayate No Gotoku, funniest shit ever.
