And seriously, how they found their way out from that cave without torches? I know the crystal glows, but they were running Way from a venom dragon and didnt have time to light them. Also Frieren was more focused on having a flashback. The show just isn't compatible with me. Though i enjoy the friendly banter. To what extend your response was your headcanon/assumption anyway? I doubt it's something actually addressed in the show at all. I was told it's character drive so these "details" disrupt the story.

I read Frieren because I had a fantasy itch after reading Dungeon Meshi. It did not scratch that itch in a satisfying way. I was disappointed by a lot of it, though I actually do enjoy the slice-of-life aspects. Whenever it gets battle-shoneny, that's when I stop caring. I then read Witch Hat Atelier, which was more of what I want from a fantasy story. Frieren as a series has some charm, but it feels a bit haphazard.
