Much of the previous arc was low effort silliness with little impact on the rest of the story and thus little long term planning required for it and Axeman still struggled to make even normal length chapters. The first two were 12 and 13 pages, which even when put together is less than many regular chapters. We then had a special illustration followed by a one month break. The final two chapters were 16 and 13 pages. 16 is okay but still on the short side. 13 is horrible. And then today we had a short mission. Axeman is getting worse.

We don't know if he's had any physical stress from his work, but being a full time artist does put a lot of stress on the body over a long time. He also mentioned his eyesight deteriorating in the most recent volume which is affecting his normal workflow.
