Like I just accepted that we were pretending that Old Kaioshin doesn't exist because no one mentioned him even though you'd think he'd be a very relevant character given the plot. But then like 7 episodes in Goku asks if he's Kaioshin's brother so the writers definitely remembered him and don't care about the audience remembering him. But later Kaioshin explains the Glindjin backstory and it seems like the writers have forgotten that there were multiple generations of Kaioshin again. Or the writers apparently having no idea what Piccolo's backstory is but also referencing something as obscure as his dad being named Katas.
