Lancelot can be generally considered somewhat above this level in terms of fighting prowess but not firepower, which kind of counters Richard's speed and versatility. I think he probably stops right below the level of people like Karna, Sun Gawain and Lancelot. So I think Richard's closest in the KOTR would probably be Mordred or Percival.
