He's more prominent in filler episodes that are connected to canon events (read: any event that does not involve anime-originals like Shusuke Amagai or Nozomi), but is still hated that he never appears past his debut in the manga and in the TYBW anime. At least he has fans in a similar vein to Foxy from One Piece, though.
