Why are yuri bait and platonic yuri more succesful than explicit yuri?
>>285671124The ambiguity leads to broader appeal. It can be enjoyed for its non-yuri elements, its soft yuri elements, and some hardcore yuri enthusiasts will like the implications and/or the doujins.
>>285671124lol
>>285671124test
I wouldn't put Gundam Witch on the platonic yuri because they get married, but I understand your point since they didn't show us a kiss
>>285671124reasonable deniabilitysomeone who doesn't like yuri can watch yuribait and act like they are just female friends. if it's explicit they won't watch
>>285671124You take the blue pill, the dream ends. You wake up in Yuri bait and believe whatever you want to. You take the red pill hen you stay in Shoujo nAi and I show you how deep the doomed Yuri goes.
real yuri makes you think of real lesbians and real lesbians are gross
Would /a/ be better if shitpost phrases like "soft seinen" and "yuri bait" were banned?
>>285671124>Boys have GetBackers.>Girls have Lycoris Recoil.>Boys have Code Geass.>Girls have Ga-Rei: Zero.What's next?
>>285672258Just filter
>>285671124Always remember the golden rule;It isn't yuri until it is
>>285672336Filtering is like putting on a gas mask to walk through a shit filled street instead of getting rid of the shit. I'm just tired of it. Things should be better.
>>285672443go make your own board on your own site then, and have no visitors as you find a reason to ban everyone who is not you
>>285671124I only joined because I thought it was a Darwin Jihen thread. But I see I was mistaken.
>>285671124It's what the ""yurifags"" wantYou will be surprised at how much they are resistant to seeing physical attraction and lust in their "romance" and how willing they are to make excuses about the lack of them Hence the lesser popularity of hard yuri Basically as long as """yurifags""" keep eating up the makers have no need to change
>>285671643My wife and her best friend.
>>285671124Saki and Love Live are the two of the most successful all-girl series in Japan and they both have canon yuri couples in them. G-Witch and Kaguya aren’t platonic either when they talk about marriage.
>>285674030>seeing physical attraction and lust in their "romance" and how willing they are to make excuses about the lack of themThere is more and faster sex and kisses in yuri manga than the average straight series in the same magazines they’re published in.
>>285674831Those are for yurifags, not """yurifags""" Learn the difference
>>285674889Where I disagree is that I don’t think there’s a movement of self-described yurifags who would be against the characters showing more affection. It’s usually the non-yurifags (people who don’t want to see yuri romance) who are against that.
>>285671124>Boring romance between dykesor>any genre that teases yuri as a hookWow it's as if it's rocket science.
>>285675706Why do you find yuri romance boring?
>>285671124>platonic yurithis doesn't make any sense to me. How can it be platonic and yuri at the same time?
>>285674942Nice cope but the reality is that certain yurifags always go gaga over certain types of yuri This is true in even /a/ and /u/, the supposed places of hardcore yurifags
>>285676487Love can be platonic
>>285675733NTA but most exclusive yuri romance media is filled with bullshit melodrama which pretty off putting to me.
>>285676945I don’t really think that the drama is any better or worse than the kinds of drama you can find in other comparable romance. I’d say that yuri has a leg up on it’s competition that the drama usually happens after/white the characters are kissing, which can make it more tolerable compared to some other dramatic works.Plus, you can always read action and SoL yuri that has less drama.
>>285676549Yurifags like that those kinds of series because we see them as vehicles towards yuri. Take Akebi, for example. Pretty much all yurifags here are happy at how the two leads are in love now. Your point about how yurifags dislike intimacy would be more accurate if the manga was hated now.
>>285671124Nobody likes fags
>ppl now are praising male gaze yuri
>>285677337Both yuri primarily consumed by guys and yuri primarily consumed by girls can be good. Stop being a retard.
>>285677337Troon-coded post
>>285671124Kaguya is explicitly sexual
>>285671124Kill yourself, shitposter.
WHEN ARE WE GETTING FUTARIBEYA ANIME?!?!??
>>285679430Nothing happens
>>285677337What is Male Gaze Yuri?
>>285671124People like pure girls, not lesbians. Voyeuring on immature girls experimenting on sexuality and boundaries is nice, watching lesbians explicitly be lesbians is not, or if it is, it's a fetish and subversion of natural appeal, and thus bound to be niche.Even in explicit yuri shows, it's always the non-gay girl that's more likeable (she reciprocates because women are sexually flexible). Though, you may still be thankful for the gay girl making the spectacle happen, but the gay girl's female appeal is often greatly diminished to the point where you could just replace it with a male. Though it can be more amusing to watch the non-gay girl's confusion due to them both being girls and blurring the line between female friendship and romantic relationship.
>>285671124woman form particularly strong bond between each other.so yuri-bait strike me as normal relationship between women.I can accept yuri as an odd thing women could do but if is a turn off if focused on.I hate harems but is probably the only place where it make sense.
>>285671124Explicit yuri mainly appeals to women, soft yuri appeals to everyone
>>285682190False
>>285671124Because Bi females appeal to men alot more than lesbians do.Because you get the hot scenes of two girls but you can also fuck both of them.
>Why isn't my low budget no marketing series as popular as super productionsWHAT A MISTERY DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUH
>>285671124How do people get Hibike Euphonium mixed up with Yuri. Kumiko never states she's in love with Reina or even hints at the idea. If anything the straight ship of Kumiko/Shuuichi is ovbious as it's stated "childhood friends" and the long history they have. Raina is just her closest friend/inspiration. Reina has her own doomed crushed to focus on and was a driving point for her to improve. Raina's entire confession was treated as a "Thanks for filling the slience" after the first year's regionals iirc. Was it that abridge spoof that sold people the idea?
>>285682592Shippers see what they want to see anon, even when they were told the novels had Kumiko dating the guy, they doubled down the anime was going to change because a few artists made doujin of the series or something.
>>285674362Forbidden lovers
>>285671432>they get marriedThat's actually up to interpretation.
Controversial opinion: most yuri romance is less popular than other similar works because they lack any males. All female casts are usually a poison to popularity among mainstream audiences. Notice how all the works in the OP feature guys in prominent roles while the most popular yuri romances, Citrus and YagaKimi, have guys compared to the next popular ones like Adashima/Watanare/Watayuri.This is even outside of “he should fuck them” ideas romcoms where the girls have yuri-ish feelings between them are even less popular than yuri). Lots of guys want some token self-insert, who can have his own love interest outside of the girls, and girls think that all-girl yuri is fake.
>>285683248>see ring>they behave like marry couple>It's up to interpretation!!!come on, anon
>>285683248So why does the official BD of the series states they are married?
>>285682592It's because Kumiko has some gay moments
>>285672229i know some real lesbians and i never think of them, at least not in an intrusive way, when smacking the meat to yuri doujins.more of a "i wonder if they are this fucking wild" way.
>>285676805"love" in this sense is never the platonic ideal. no one sees the advertisment "girls love" and thinks>finally a femme version of athenian teachingno, we think of girls kissing.
>>285686991Sure but that screen shot is pretty out of context. This is right before they do the auditions for the trumpet solo. Everyone's had pretty much gone with the tradition of giving the third years the solos, wheres Reina is clearly better then Kaori, and this scene is Kumiko reaffirming her believe in Reina. Kumiko says "I'll vote for you, I'll become a villain for you" paraphrasing but still that was the jist. This also ignores a few episodes earlier where Reina confesses her love for Taki to Kumiko. For Yuri fans to ignore all that just for a "Yuri bait" is retardation. I love Yuri but Hibike is not Yuri.
>>285686991Another thing I don't get is, Hibike does have a vaguely Yuri couple in Kaori and Asuka. Sure they're just "roommates" but that vague enough to say they are a couple. Why the focus on the two straight FMC being gay is just piss poor yuriship
>AHHHHHHHH I LOVE TAKI-SENSEI! HE'S SO PERFECT AND FLAWLESS! I WANT TO MARRY HIM AND HAVE SEX WITH HIM!Gotta be a special kind of retard to ignore this. Not that it matters since the romance in Hibike was dogshit on all fronts
>>285688263Vaguely is a stretch since their extra chapter gets pretty implicit.>>285688403The funniest thing about this is that Kumiko and Taki have a stronger connection than they have with their designated pair.
>>285688460I was only referring to the anime due to the ln being stuck in translator hell last I check with only volume 1 being translated. Id love to read the rest of you know where at. I've noticed that too. Reina would absolutely be seething if she knew just how often Kumiko/Taki interact. All the little bits of advice between the two.
>>285688569https://teamoumae.wordpress.com/2019/06/11/true-story-3-however-that-time/
>>285688648Thanks Anon, really appreciate it!!!!
>>285688263I pointed out they were gay but no one believed me at first.
>>285691027Cause everyone wanted to fuck Asuka
>>285671124"Platonic"
>>285687086>more of a "i wonder if they are this fucking wild" way.and the answer is no. women as a simple matter of anatomy cannot have sex with each other. furthermore the source of a woman's sex drive is her biological clock and the desire for children. lesbian bed death is well documented.
