Did we underestimate the depth of Chainsawman anime?

>>285724965Liking cinema and referencing it a lot doesn't make your work deep, only makes you a cinema fan.
>>285724965No if anything we overestimated it
>>285725242Pretty mutch this, it was cool in the early 90s, when Tarantino did something bigger than homage, nowadays it's just references for redditors
>>285725242What cinema did they reference?
>>285725043It was massive on Crunchyroll, which is more important than zombie physical media.
>>285724965Yes, one of few soulful anime released in the past years.
To be fair, you need to have an IQ/EQ of atleast 100 to truly understand and appreciate CSM For everyone else below this threshold, there's Kagurabachi and Jujutsu Kaisen
>>285725751>you just need an average IQ to read CSMYou can say that again

>>285724965The anime s1 would have been great if not for all of the ps2 cgi. I am so tired of people trying to pretend the issue was the style. Especially the art style itself. The movie was far better than s1 but the art in s1 was much better. It's genuine the only time a "new anime style" seems to have had effort put into it and looked good and not like poorly shaded ms paint trash. The movie looked like norio matsumoto / hirofumi suzuki esque fluid high quality movement with a massive reduction in shadows to allow it. I don't mind this style at all and the use of wacky colors and shit later in the movie was obviously great and lacking in s1 for sure. But it was the cgi. Cgi ruined s1. It made it horrrific and unwatchable to me. I will never watch s1 again. But if all of the fights were like the bat demon instead? I would consider it fantastic.
>>285725436The whole opening is a reference to movies. The image in OP was from a Miyazaki movie, I think, can't remember right now.JJK current season also references a lot of other media for no reason except because yes
