i have never seen a popular modern shounen with a release schedule this bad imagine if one of the big 3 back in the day only just got to it's second season after 6 years.

circumstances are very unique
mappa got greedy for csm and took the committee role for the anime.
after nakayama backlash they course corrected with a hit film, so more consistent schedule is to be expected moving forward (unless they decide to go the movie/ona route, then it might this whole decade).
