At the end, she discovered that the disaster was because Kunon and friends accidentally made a possible world ending device so she privately told Kunon about it (Kunon was the lead researcher). Kunon was getting a bit sad about having to scrap the research, but the principal is like "what the fuck are you talking about?", she told him the benefits of the research, to continue the research and just build some safety mechanism because the research is fun. By the way, the accident was because Kunon group was trying to create a box that can store spells, another group was making an experiment to prove the existence of spirits (spirit of darkness specifically) and the saintess main research was the interaction of plant life with holy magic, this resulted with the spirit of darkness entering inside the spell box instead of returning to its home (dark place are comfty to them and the spell box created a 100% isolated dark place), but once the device opened a bit, the light spirits (from the saintess experiments) came to play with the dark spirits and they merged creating a mini genesis event that made every plant from the Saintess research lab to grow a lot and create a jungle.
