No, but a lil bit of confusion and maybe anger. Back then I was still a wee lad so I didn't know nor care about this manga but its glorious fighting coreography and its linework. It's only after a year or two with no new volume that the realization hit me. It really ended.

Joe's coping of Rikiishi's death hit me harder then his death in all honesty.
