Why do people blame publishers for out of print manga for reasons why they pirate and not the fact that people are marking up used manga to hundreds of dollars? I can get out of print and/or rare/older manga in Japan, whole series (let's say 10 volumes) for less than 4k at various bookstores. There's series who only got special editions once in the 80s and still affordable today. What makes western markets so rife with these kind of people in hobbies? It's a loaded question but when I see other countries not have this problem, it makes you wonder.Publishers should reprint series if they notice interest, but I think the grifters in the used manga market are also to blame. I've just been seeing the sentiment that publishers are to blame for used manga market when it's peer to peer selling.

Why the fuck does it matter? If I download it online or I pay someone else for a used copy, the publisher and the author are getting the EXACT SAME AMOUNT OF MONEY.
