How is this anime based on a manga? The anime is largely episodic; is it even possible for manga to be like that? Also, while I like this anime a lot, I feel like the non-episodic parts are significantly better than the episodic parts.Like, the last 5 or so episodes of part 1 were the only time during my viewing that I felt “hooked” and that was simply because it actually had a multi-episode plot.My point is, this would have been better if the whole show was like that.
The movie, Manga, and anime, have entirely different tones and vibes, I consider them entirely seperate continuties
>>285749673Stupid anon, they literally tell you at the start of the episode>a stand alone episodeIt's an episodic episode that "stands alone"
>>285750040>complex episodeThe episode is part of the multi-episode story "complex"AKAStand-alone complexI swear this show is too high IQ for anons
>>285750057>>285750040They even color coded it for you!
>>285749673SAC is easily the least interesting iteration of GITS that I've watched. Basic bitch shit for a tv audience. Even with two seasons and a movie there just wasn't a whole lot to it, I was left with the feeling that I'd seen a lot of these character moments and plot beats many times before in other shows. It's not inherently a problem but SAC doesn't even have a strong style that stands out. Sick ass OST but the overall presentation is pretty bland.
>>285749673>The anime is largely episodic; is it even possible for manga to be like that?Conan.
>>285750128On the other hand it's my favorite, it has the most interesting world building and fleshes out the charactersI loved the movie as a kid but now I think it's pretentious and fully carried by the beautiful visualsSame with the Patlabor movies. The setting is so fun but the movie sucks all the fun out and makes it so dry, and then beats you over the head with gorgeous backgroundsNow that I have this book I basically don't need the movies anymore
>>285749673I like her ass, is a really nice shape
>>285750297What did you think of Innocence? I think it's like a long SAC episode but actually good.
>>285750369Haven't watched it in a while but "like a long SAC episode" sounds correct
>>285750040I’m on second gig and I don’t see this visual on any of the episodes I just watched/ am currently watching.
>>285749673>is it even possible for manga to be like that? Are you stupid or retarded?
>>285750576Check againThe name is different but the idea is the same"dividual" is stand alone episodic
>>285750713And... "individual" are the complex episodesThat's retarded
>>285750713Oh yeah I remember seeing those. Those little paragraphs on the left always completely stole my attention from anything else. I would assume that means it’s a 2 part episode
>>285750735Individual = stand alone Dual = two partComplex = big story Perhaps?
>>285750057Idk if this show is “high iq” but I will certainly say it requires good attention span. It’s very easy to get lost or stop paying attention for a second and not know what anyone’s talking about.
>>285749673>How is this anime based on a manga?Jesus, this shit has 1(one) volume, just read it
How are there people on /a/ so ignorant of manga? Is it possible for a manga to be episodic? Did your parents drop you on your head as a child?
>>285749673>Anon got confused by the concept of chapters
>>285749673>The anime is largely episodic; is it even possible for manga to be like that?...what?
>>285750297sac is bogged down in the details of the bureaucracy and has basically no interesting ideas at allthe original ghost in the shell was a watershed moment for film where people actually started believing movies could convey ideas about the future and raise the medium to a new levelobviously that failed and people just like marvel slop. man I dont think its possible to hate SAC enough
>>285755242Holy reddit slop
>>285755255people still like the original film. no one likes sac. there is hardly a fanbase. its like a police procedural but the payoff is some sort of philosophy for dummies caption at the end of listening to people argue about bureacracy for 15 minutes
>>285755289>the payoff is some sort of philosophy for dummies caption at the end of listening to people argue about bureacracy for 15 minutesjust like gits 1995
>>285755373Now now anon, it's not nice to bully the retarded or the British
>>285750057>hurriedly starts fapping
>>285755242
>>285755419oh wow dudes copy each other. no one ever knew that before
>IMG_1924>photo of the screen What a shit thread
>>285749673i want to rape her assto establish my dominance
>>285749673>My point is, this would have been better if the whole show was like that.kill yourself zoomtard
>>285755242>the original ghost in the shell was a watershed moment for film where people actually started believing movies could convey ideas about the future and raise the medium to a new levelghost in the shell came out in the early 1900s?
>>285749673the fact that the previous anime have been different from the manga is precisely why the Science saru anime is happening, are you really this stupid?
when the new series starts the GiTS threads will get better trust the plan
>>285750857The sad truth is that average IQ is probably sub 90 with all the turd worlders infecting the site, but it was never high and you would need to actively think about things while most people are just passively watching stuff.
>>285749673It isn't singularly based on the manga, but moments are taken straight from the manga or adapted from it otherwise, and the series is pretty well loyal to the bits of backstory and world building that were dropped in the manga. But most of it is original, and character personalities resemble but aren't the same as manga counterparts. Togusa is a lot more competent, Ishikawa is a much more important character, the Major is more straight-laced.
It's not really based on the manga, but the setting established by the manga. It takes some parts of the story like Motoko doing a heist thing, leaving Section 9 and seemingly getting her head blown off, but it's done completely different. Mostly the manga is just referenced, like with Motoko's chatroom avatar and the bee robots. With the later half of the manga where Motoko leaves Section 9 and works in a submarine, I'm glad they didn't follow it. That shit was so boring. What was really wrong of them was to do 2045, when the movie ended things perfectly. Motoko woke up at HQ, said working alone was fun, but had no sense of accomplishment and Batou puts his arm around her as they look out the window and she says "The internet really is vast and infinite." That's how that should have stayed. Not with Purin (even if she's cute), "N" humans and Motoko reviving Purin as a robot, which is pretty much her worst fear, then fist-bumping Batou and leaving. Again. What were they thinking? Her incarnations aren't the same, but for her to say "For all we know, we could have died on the operating table long ago." and "It's not like you can see in your own brain case." in the first movie and manga, yet turn that fear into reality by making a replicant of the dead Purin was just bizarre. She was pissed at people just trafficking organs in season 1 and making an AI duplicate of her dead squad-mate, manipulating everyone's memories and walking her in there as if she were the real deal there for the first time is 1,000x worse.
>>2857582182045 was shitty fanfic tier writing. Purin was just Kuvshinov's Mary Sue OC.
>>285750297I like the Patlabor films because I'm an anti-whimsy person. Normal Headgear Patlabor is too Scooby Doo for me.
