The MC guy is just very two notes and that guy with the knife seemed so bored to be there that he managed to make just as apathetic. Last but no least, the MC's philosophy is incredibly inconsistent and self defetist, there's just no way to argue against someone just grabbing a gun (even a conplete amateur with no previous weapon experience) and killing every other contestant, and according to Setsuna that person would be not only entirely justified, but unironically the strongest.
