You get it, but narrative importance of characters is messed up and there is a lot more context we didn't know he wants to express.Like, Yamato needed to be staring at Luffy washed up on the beach and been part of the narrative. Her importance and what is implied is kinda massive and how little there actually is to her at the end of things because Oda essentially skipped half the beats because Wano was still too fucking long when drafting it

Granted she was in her Awakened Zoan form at the time, but Kaidou was Hybrid then, so her strength can't be downplayed. Plus there's the whole gimmick of Thunder Bagua being, effectively, "Cheapshot: the Move" because it's a high speed/high power attack that gives little room for defence even when you know it's coming.
