shes hotter than marin t b h
I didn't know there were people who found her attractive.
>>286133545So what was that announcement they were going to do in that one event happening around these days? More pachinko?
>>286133545I'd need more proof of that
>>286133545I thought only autistic weebs have ever considered her atrocious design attractive.
>>286133545For me it's long hair Haruhi. Literally perfection.
I rewatched the movie yesterday, in cinema. I forgot how disappointing the series is. Maybe it was kinda good until Kyon realized Haruhi exists in the other school, but after that the whole movie is pointless and the main plot is not even that good.Meanwhile the books are just endless side stories slop.I didn't like it much back in the days. Retrospectively I thought I was just being too much of a hipster, but now that it is not even popular anymore, it is even more obviously not that good.
>>286133545Marin and Haruhi would get along. Even with the age difference.
>>286133545Made for lesbian rape
Haruhi is the hottest anime girl of all time
>>286133545She's hot. All of them are hot. Marin is hot too. And Juju-sama is especially hot.

>>286134023I rewatch the movie every year and it's always good.
>>286133545My GODDESS
>>286133545>she's hotter than a seagullShe'd better be.
for me its Koizumi
I love how distinctly chocolate colored her hair is. Haruhi looks like she smells like Nutella.
>>286133649Haruhisky?
>>286134121Haruhi: ChocolateMikuru: Caramel or peanut butterYuki: ???
>>286134074Haruhi would be better without men.
>>286134917She is average to me. Not particularly attractive, neither in looks or personality
>>286134023In what capacity is the movie after Kyons finds Haruhi pointless, Kyon finally admits to himself that he loves the all the crazy things that having Haruhi in his life brings him, and it develops Nagato and her and Kyons relationship massively, by fleshing out Nagatos motives and struggles immensely, and Kyon and Nagatos relationship provides an incredibly strong message of the necessity of paying attention to those that rarely speak their mind, as it doesnt mean that there is nothing they desire or care about, and that it is the duty of those that have the ability to help, to act when they notice something seems off about them, instead of just assuming everything is fine, and then being taken completely by surprise by their suicide.I seriously want you to tell me, knowing this, how in what possible capacity is Disappearance pointless.
>>286133545>marinwhomst?
>>286133837>I'd need more proof of that
Are we supposed to argue or is this just a Haruhi thread?
>>286136968not much of an argument
>>286136968show a comparison between haruhi and marin's asses in bikinis. there will be no need to argue after that
>>286136456It is pointless, because when Kyon realizes Haruhi exists, all the tension from the movie is gone and the problem is solved, it just takes really long time to get to the conclusion and the movie continues for a long while even after the conclusion. Additionally, the fact he says everything to Haruhi herself goes against the whole series until that point and the alleged dangerous of her knowing the truth. Even if he is stupid enough to believe there won't be long-term effect somehow, you would think he wouldn't take the risk.At that point Kyon had already spent the whole movie trying to bring everyone together. You didn't need like a 10 minute dramatic dream-like sequence of him admitting he enjoys the SOS activities. The fact he was given the choice already did that. And no, the movie is not about quiet suicidal people. In fact, Nagato does the complete opposite. She lives more than before. She makes a world where she can live not as a robot, but as a real human with emotions, still quiet at that. She even orchestrates a love story with Kyon for herself. That said it is all nonsense, because Nagato leaves the choice to Kyon, already knowing he will make the choice to stop her. So you can say it is not her being quiet, but a huge attention seeking tantrum. A tantrum she knew that is going to happen and decided to allowed it to happen, because she also knew everything is gonna be solved and only bring her benefits. Though, she knew that at a time she was full-robotic and should have not cared about any benefits to herself. It is all silly, and stupid, and totally not like how you try to represent it.

>tfw God decides to bully you
>>286138391
>>286133649>>286133892It's her personality and the idea of her that are hot.Yeah, the almost Key-esque S1 face design is not good. The S2 face design is an improvement but still not great. Her body is obviously smoking hot and just adapt the face to a more modern anime design and she's still Haruhi but now the art style isn't as ugly. Now she's perfect. This isn't "cheating" as she's canonically extremely beautiful.
>>286134121>And Juju-sama is especially hot.B-B-B-BASED
>>286135048Every anime would.
>>286136968Yes.
>>286136968Engagement bait. 4chan standard. Marin is perfect so it invites attention.
>>286140992I mean it IS a good way to start a thread, by providing a topic of discussion. The choice of Marin as a comparison was somewhat random, although I guess they are both manic pixie dreamgirls.
>>286138455>>286138467>>286138505Bisexuals make the best wives. Kyon is lucky.

>>286141547>Only ponytail Haruhi is a hottie.Gay.
>>286141547Alright anon time to stop huffing paint.
>>286133892>>286140806I'm not a big fan of some of the moe styles from the 2000s, and this is one of them, but I would still choose most of them over many of the bland and boring artstyles that are popular in these days, such as Frieren, Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsawman ect
>>286140762Oh no no no
>>286138839The whole fucking point of the 10 minute dream sequence was how up until that point Kyon wasnt being honest with himself despite him making the choice to go back to the original world, so him making the choice to go back meant nothing as to him it was just business as usual, he was simply returning things to how theyre supposed to be, rather than confronting himself about how he thinks things should be, because at that point he is unaware of the real reason the alternate world exists. Yes him making the choice already proved he enjoyed the SoS activities, but he himself was oblivious to the meaning of that decision. As for the Nagato bit, this is why it is crucial to actually pay attention to what she says after the world is restored to Kyon on the rooftop, and that is how even at that point by the time she had developed emotions, she still considered her actions to be as a result of errors, and her going abberant. What this means is that the alternate world wasnt a benefit to her in Yukis mind, it was an incoherent, illogical drive that would of only resulted in her anhiliation either by the alternate world remaining or by it being undone and her being punished by the Data Ovemind, as whilst she did know Kyon would activate the escape program, she did not know whether he would succeed in returning thing back to normal. And the biggest reason as to why the alternate world isnt a benefit to her is because she doesnt exist in the alternate world, alternate Yuki isnt actually Yuki, she is the embodiment of Yukis desire to be normal, and to be able to experience and express emotions normally, but this normalcy is what makes her fundamentally different from who she is, because despite the similarities, Nagato is fundamentally defined by her alienness and her weirdness, stripping that away effectively erases her as a person, and on top of that there is the fact that the 2 share almost no memories in common.
>>286138839>when Kyon realizes Haruhi exists, all the tension from the movie is gone and the problem is solvedIt's not. This current Haruhi is powerless. All the power she has is inspirational.>and the movie continues for a long while even after the conclusionThe movie tackles necessary themes and delivers proper sendoffs to its characters in its epilogue instead of just deflating instantly after its action climax, yes. That's called an epilogue.>Additionally, the fact he says everything to Haruhi herself goes against the whole series until that point and the alleged dangerous of her knowing the truth. Even if he is stupid enough to believe there won't be long-term effect somehow, you would think he wouldn't take the riskThat's a stupid thing to say, he's currently handling the most dangerous situation he's ever been in. His entire world has been turned upside down. Everyone here is normal. He needs Haruhi. In fact, he actually already told Haruhi about her powers once and it didn't end up mattering since she refused to believe him. Not telling Haruhi isn't such a big deal, he'd tell her if Nagato disappeared.>In fact, Nagato does the complete opposite. She lives more than beforeYou've completely missed the subtext. Alt Nagato is barely functional. She needs Asakura to sustain her. She can barely utter a word and lets a stranger pin her to the wall. She's like a desperate pathetic animal. Alt Nagato represents both some of Nagato's repressed suffering that she couldn't express and the destructive alteration she subjected herself to in order to get to something she falsely idealized in her confusion.>because Nagato leaves the choice to Kyon, already knowing he will make the choice to stop herShe has no idea. She can't see the future in these instances. Her future self refuses to sync with her. Either way, Kyon making that choice, and Nagato finally expressing herself through that universe altering disaster were important and necessary.
>>286147100To be more specific, alt Nagato represents Nagatos desire to be “normal” and to be able to express and experience emotions normally, as opposed to how she was dealing with emotions as an alien up until that point, and alt Asakura represents Nagatos desire to never be hurt ever again
>>286147272Both are importantly manifestations of her subconscious desires, rather than things she consciously willed into existence
>>286138839>Though, she knew that at a time she was full-robotic and should have not cared about any benefits to herselfHow could you miss the entire point of the movie, or even arguably the original anime series? Nagato always had these feelings, to a lesser extent at first but she clearly developed these even before Endless Eight. She couldn't say it, but she sure did feel it. And the others didn't notice it, neglecting her and her burden at times, which is made especially clear in Someday in the Rain. Notice how Alt Nagato's big flashback is about Kyon getting the library card for her but the real emphasis is on her being unable to thank him at the time, and feeling bad for it? Then she thanks him and it's a pretty big moment in the movie. At this point you can wonder whether this is something original Yuki felt too and couldn't say, or not... but the moment Kyon and Nagato finally get some alone and intimate time after the conflict is resolved, real Nagato is confronted more directly by Kyon, who's more than ever before aware of what she feels and what she needs. That's when the dam breaks, Yuki can finally express herself, it even starts snowing to symbolize this. And that scene ends with a big "Thank you", parallel to the library scene, and a significant moment for Nagato, as she'll later refuse to sync with her past self so she can normally experience that "Thank you" as she did. It's all about self expression. Hell, the movie even ends on Nagato at the library expressing her empathy and appreciation with the book.>>286147272Alt Asakura is definitely a darker side of that Yuki, an almost irrational one that'd turn violent, lash out to protect herself. It even hints at self hate since she fucks with Alt Yuki during the stabbing scene. Obviously she had to be stopped by a future Nagato who had grown beyond these traumas and issues.
>head cannon the fanbase
>>286147561>Cant come up with a refutation to the points made so obviously literary analysis of things clearly shown = baseless headcanon

>>286135048Cringe.
>>286153860On the philosophy of aesthetics, I agree with you. However, even S1 style Haruhi is not ugly at all. Her moé facial features give her an impish look that suits her personality. Aiming for beauty doesn't mean polishing away all character. A lot of anime girls aren't even recognizable apart from their hairstyles and it's a virtue that Haruhi is.

Glad people (say that they) liked it, but if they were willing to sit through roughly 200 minutes of the same dull episode over and over, they'd probably still convince themselves the Haruhi movie was a masterpiece if it was just two hours of a blank screen with no audio.
