>>286161314You're right, she's perfect
>>286161257some stubble would be nice
I love Kana so much I want to put her in a movie
Never seen a love interest/character a author hated this much.
>>286161604Ruby?
Imagine going on a date with KanaImagine dancing with KanaImagine being Kana's first kissImagine taking Kana home from your lovely date with herImagine making out with Kana before you leaveImagine telling Kana you love her before you leave for the night
>>286161684Ruby at least got fake closure.
>>286161604Each of the girls got their fair share of humiliation over the course of the series
>>286161767Yeah. Kana also got hers during the beginning, middle, and end.
>>286161815Yes, and she won all of our hearts through her struggles.
>>286161746Ruby is the only one who managed to properly move on, grieving without letting it consume her. Akane took a turn for the occult to try resurrecting Aqua and Kana committed to acting after saying she didn't care about it anymore solely because that was the last way she could stay connected to him, and she hopes he'll becone a zombie too. As expected of the protagonist. Side girls couch never do that.
>>286161904>couchcould*It's a sign to sleep. Good night.
>>286161895Yeah of course, despite the authors efforts. >>286161904My main point was that the author hates Kana and of the three by far she got it the worst. I understand a tragic heroine but her case is to the point of comedic in its writing.
>>286161960I don't even think Aka was actively trying to humiliate Kana or any of the girls, I think he's just literally retarded. The slap scene's the perfect example: he gets it into his head that it's going to be all cinematic because of that conversation the two of them had and an amazing callback, etc, and it just ends up feeling baffling and ridiculous
>>286162082>>I don't even think Aka was actively trying to humiliate Kana or any of the girls, I think he's just literally retarded. That's exactly how I feel, If the anime changes the ending in any significant way. I will cry of laughter. I really don't care for "death of the author" for a literature term, but a mangaka is entitled to do what he wants. I have to say though, this regardless of shipping wars so such a good example of every ball possible being fumbled against the audience. Why is a decent ending so hard?
>>286161960>My main point was that the author hates Kana and of the three by far she got it the worstShe got one of the best end, she used her memories with him and made the her strength
>>286162082>retarded Autistic is the word you're looking for. Aka is literally autistic.
Aka is a misogynist who hates women
my oshi, my beloved~
>>286161904memcho is the only one who actually moved on because she was brought in mid-game as an adult and watched the whole disaster unfold, powerless to stop it. she's basically cassandra
Gutter trick ass hoe
>>286162082Aka had this tragic ending in mind from the start. The problem was that he didn't change it to accomodate for the buildup he's done at that point. Also because his adhd brain got interested in starting up a fantasy series so he rushed towards the ending which resulted in the mess that it the final arc.
>>286162655Around the time onk was ending, I saw some person express how Aka's remarkable in that you can feeling him becoming bored with his series in real time. It's happened with both Kaguya and this: he loses interest and rushes the manga to a conclusion in the most unsatisfying manner possible. I'm sure he'll do the same with his future series if people haven't already given up on him like I have
>>286162655>Aka writing the ending
>>286162655I agree, the reason the ending didn't work was because in order to end on a tragic note for the main character (especially for a revenge story where the mc becomes consumed by his thirst for vengeance) there needs to be a gradual descent into a "point of no return" where the readers lose hope that the mc will turn it around for themselves. Say what you will about The Last Of Us 2, but at least it understood that in some way, making Ellie do worse and worse things until you find it difficult to root for her but also genuinely believe that she is now too far gone to not ruin everything to get revenge (which is shit writing in this case but only because of the setup in the first game making tlou 2 an unsatisfying way to continue the story but whatever its not what im talking about). For non-revenge examples, death note and code geass are pretty good examples. Light slowly descends into madness that you as a viewer realise you no longer root for him, do when he dies it's not disappointing or seems like a slap to the face, but almost seems like the most likely outcome as we clearly saw the trajectory that Light was now too far gone to be saved. Or even in the case of code geass, while Lelouch was never irredeemable, it was instead the circumstances AROUND him that made it understandable why he had to die, that framing himself as the common enemy of the people and taking himself out was for the best of society and the idea that he would do such a self sacrifice makes sense because from the very beginning the series sets up that he cares more about changing the country and its system rather than benefiting himself. Now for Aqua, i think the point of no return for him should have been after he finds out that his dad is still alive. Because at that point we saw him thirst for revenge, let that go when he thought his dad was dead, only to spiral even harder when he was told that, no actually, Kamiki is still fucking alive baby.
>>286163896 (cont.)I think Aqua should have spiralled into straight up villany following this point, as it would be more tragic considering we would have seen his capacity to get better and move forward, only for the series to crush that so thoroughly that the reader would only see one way to end this: his death. He should have become despicable where the other characters slowly notice and be affected by his actions and try to help him, only to slowly lose hope alongside the reader, so by the end when he murder-suicides Kamiki and realises before death that all of this was fucking stupid, it seems bitter and painful but ultimately understandable. It would also make the characters grieving more palatable because they wouldn't be completely crushed by the sudden death of someone they loved who was still essentially showing signs of growth and healing throughout the entire story, but rather they would grieve the predictable end of someone they loved, but could see was so far gone that they secretly knew, they just knew, that it would end this way. It would also allow the living characters to move on more definitively because they wouldn't want to end up like him, basically making Aqua a cautionary tale to the others. Anyway sadge
>>286161032Didn't she try to rape a corpse?
>>286163896>>286163945Would it have been better if Aka actually considered making him the villain of Movie Arc? With Ruby as the hero
