>>286177548It was never good out there to begin with.
>>286177579My problem with lolifags is that they are just annoying as fuck and weird.I read stuff with loli and shota and it either goes you are called a pedophile or you are surrounded by weirdos who just want only talk about sex and porn instead of having a discussion
Remember, these threads are populated by paid industry shills, bots trained on them and the occasional useful idiot schizo doomposting to demoralize you. There is little to be gained but annoyance by doomscrolling in threads like these. If you're concerned, save things you think might be at risk and organize somewhere consisting only of people you trust rather than wasting time shouting into the void here. I still haven't even heard any credible evidence that anything happened beyond a few random glorified H-doujins getting deleted by a rogue admin who may well have been taken behind the shed right afterwards.
>>286177667>you are called a pedophile or you are surrounded by weirdos who just want only talk about sex and porn instead of having a discussionBecause it's considered an extremely taboo subject in current normalfag internet "culture", you are considered literally Hitler for liking anything remotely loli or loli-adjacent (like cgdct), so the other side gets polarized to the extreme as a reaction. All I'm saying is that the lolifags side of this war is indisputably the anti-normalfag side, so I'll stand with them out of principle even if they act like weirdos (aren't we all in one way or the other?).
>>286175288>buy it you leechThe manga is free bro, I read hundreds of series in Japanese and they are all free as long you are fine with reading less than 10 or so chapters a day per website and aren't going in a woods for more than two weeks. The issue is with lack of centralization and japanese interface, so you have to bookmark each manga and check on them manually. meanwhile with these sites I put links to 10 sites into my manga app and get notifications when new chapter release. As huge man once said, piracy is a service problem.

>>286175311Wow woooooow, learning japanese sure helped me materialize manga that's 40 years out of date out of my mind and into the physical realm, that sure helped. Its not like the point of manga sites isn't to organize all this ancient out of print shit into one place where it isn't actually lost forever, where you can find 70 year old manga, which Mangadex unilaterially deleted a few months ago because "Well we didn't like it being up there"I'm sure the ability to read japanese will grant people the ability to materialize ancient long lost out of print manga which used to be archived on sites like this and retards never backed up because too many people just assumed manga sites were forever. Its retards like this that always think "manga sites" are just "Naruto, bleach, one piece". They can't imagine that there's something that "learning japanese" won't instantly solve, because "if you learn japanese you can still read your one piece in a manga catalogue after you get Shounen Jump sent to your house" which is the deluded boomer take of manga takes. Wow one piece, that's basically every manga to ever exist, idiot. No it isn't about One Piece, its about a shit ton of manga that only existed on a few manga sites that no one backed up because people got way too comfortable. One Shot stories that do not exist anymore because the site they were originally hosted on do not exist anymore, and the stories are 40 years out of print, they literally don't exist anymore.

I'll willingly pay for a steam version for manga. The ones we have suck ass and I heard the japs do it worse with the chapter splitting
>>286180646Not him, but it's not about forced inconvenience, it's that 99% of these fucks are simply entitled cunts that never contribute to the industry or the hobby in anyway, only consume. Yes, the market is not losing value over piracy, these fags aren't generating any value either. Complete and utter waste of space and air just there to shit up the discussion environment.Back in the day, the ratio of real fans who put efforts into spreading the hobby and adapt, which takes money and usually they do support the industry in the process, is much higher, and leeches knew their place. Now the dam is broken and it's flooded with would-be-normalfags complaining all the fucking time.
>>286182812as someone who exclusively reads pre2000s unTL'd manga you're full of shit. i can get new first editions of even popular artists for like 4k yen for a set of 8-20 volumes (depends on how popular). non first editions for even less.you can even buy manga from the 20s-40s for less than 2k yen. This argument is always so fucking stupid because you're wanting a niche product that not many people are into. oh and i also buy my manga to read. learn to judge works better. you've only have 30+ years to get a decent amount of reviews on where or not it might be something you're interested in. I think if you cut the fucking entitlement people might share some of their collections but instead you reek of narcissism and entitlement
>>286183321Every time I try to talk about the older days of scanalation this is exactly what I'm talking about but it seems only leeches are left and dominate. they say shit like artists don't deserve money then these same fucks complain when series get axed. I actually think some of those scan groups that only give out the TL when you show them you purchased a copy for latter chapters actually have the right idea to combat this despite how annoyingly backwards it seems. If you enjoy a work to read 3+ volumes of then you should probably just buy one even if it's a fucking cheap ebook edition you'll never read. Everyone pirates, but we sure knew to shut our mouths and contribute in some type of way. I myself worked as a cleaner and proofer for several sites, later i helped TL somethings here on /a/ when my nip got good. These things are also championed by groups funded by big tech companies because it would grant them even more data collection, and compliance would be an increased cost on upstart competitors.
>>286186529The closest I can think to that happening is shitcord making bongs link their personal IDs only to get hacked and leak all of it. And that was a single site for a single country. Currently 4chan is fighting against that uk law in court saying they shouldn't have to comply with it just because the website can be accessed by people in the uk. Similar laws to that one are being proposed in various nations, in individual states in the us and as proposals for the eu. Most of the push back these proposed laws are facing are not from corporations, one of the eu proposals was actually written by facebook.

>>286176525Little over two years ago, Square Enix told Accord's Library which hosted bunch of Yoko Taro related stuff to pack their things and take the site down. Thankfully people in charge of the website were kind enough to give a date where they would take down the website but none of the devs (aside from one) wanted to participate in the archival effort as to not get in trouble. There now exists multiple versions of the website, in different formats and subsequently varying degrees of difficulty for users to "run" the website. The easiest way to archive a full website is using WARC (Web ARChive) and WACZ (Web Archive Collection Zipped). It's essentially one massive file which has everything and you can use a program or a website to "run" the website. It's not perfect but it's good enough for most cases.I went with a different method, trying to convert the entire website to something akin to a static website where you could use a web server like nginx or apache to run it locally or host it on the web.We also scraped enough information that, if anyone familiar enough with the structure of the website (which is well documented since it was open source) and motivation to do so, can actually make a one-to-one copy since all the media files, text, stubs, etc. were archived. One of the things which I preserved perfectly (aside from timing metadata, such as when each post or comment was made) is "gallery.accords-library.com" which was a szurubooru (an alternative booru) instance.https://accord.kuroneko.dev/
>>286190811Who knows, one of their mods annoyed me so I've issued off a bunch of complaints to Ofcom and other authorities in the UK for their non-compliance with the Online Safety Act and hosting of child porn. This was on Monday and so far nothing has come of it, if anything comes of it, it will be in a few weeks.

Didn't know about your booru. That's pretty cool.I still wonder what kicked everything off. Like, many fandoms do the same thing out in the open (e.g., Shinra Archeology Department) so I get the sense they don't go searching for stuff. Also, the staff are definitely aware of fan translations being out there. For instance, in the DoD 3 Complete Guide, page 157, Eishima Jun talks about how she tracked down misinformation in the JP fandom as originating from a bad fan translation in the EN fandom (the false claim that the girls who were executed in the DoD 3 novel were later reincarnated as the Utaite). So, I think that someone must've specifically chosen to go after Accord's Library. Like, perhaps 8-4 (localizer company) or some disgruntled person in the fandom (Rekka and Barnabisms come to mind as people who had previously complained about Accord's Library hosting their fan translations).>>286175364The guy who made weebdex is allegedly going to upload torrents but who knows they're kind of sketchy, see picrelhttps://www.reddit.com/r/mangapiracy/comments/1pjonam/beware_of_weebdex/Imo, we should create a format that makes it possible to share fan translations by themselves without also containing copyrighted content, like how people are able to openly share subtitle files. I think this can be done with image-diffs and stuff without very much effort.
>>286190820I wouldn't mind if it they did it in a non-scummy way. There are plenty of raws for older series in readable quality and without watermarks. Do you guys only follow ongoing shit?
The friction for downloading chapters individually is too high compared to streaming images from a centralized website. Manga needs either a P2P file distribution protocol more suitable for the medium than bittorrent, or a streamlined tachiyomi-like app with torrent integration. As it stands, torrents only really work for bulk downloads of multiple volumes.
>>286199401Do you think manga aimed at teens that depict sexual situations or even mentions of them shouldn't exist? Mangadex's announcement doesn't mention loli or anything. It says "minors".
>>286203106The people who bought mangadex put the company in Britain so I imagine they will not allow a lot of shit that would be fine in say America>>286200619The owner of kiwifarms was into neko shota, allowed a text only thread for actual pedophiles on imageboard he ran in the past, and that is where a lot of them cry.
>>286181629yeah but before MT there was basically what we have now were you just google random manga chapters and hope for the best and I also like to argue MD is better than Batoto in its peak, took quite a few years before it started deleting shit.
>>286203734>and I also like to argue MD is better than Batoto in its peak, took quite a few years before it started deleting shit.I agree.Hmm, I don't know how things were before MT, I discovered it immediately after i swapped from reading a couple of popular weekly manga. I remember I was supplementing MT with stoptazmo which was more convenient for downloading individual chapters.
>missing the point this badly
I remember the days of mangafox mayne

>>286200619>So all the hundreds of video essays made by normalfags and hood weebs like the one >>286199401 posted virtue-signaling and complaining about all the lolisho and incest in anime are all just projecting pedos now? Every single one of them?Always the case. Most normal degenerates and normal people don't care for trivial things like Monochrome chinese cartoons.
>>286175245Use mihon and have a bunch of extensions for the shittier sites, that way you can read your chapters but without the ads.
>>286195387There used to be exclusive scanlators to Batoto as well before it got fucked the first time they'll move
>>286204801Exactly normal people don't make video essays or campaign against things they have normal lives instead
>>286205184Some usually end up quitting every time people have to transfer.
>>286199401Why are you interested in a hobby for "creepy pedos" (your words)?
>>286206125>Why are you interested in a hobby for "creepy pedos" (your words)?Because I’m a battle shonenCHAD and wish to make all anime genres more like it.
>>286206381>he likes to watch underage characters do adult thingsKinda creepy.
>>286175562Thanks for informing us of this. It'll be dealt with.
>>286175245>>286182292https://torrentfreak.com/manga-piracy-giant-bato-to-china-coda-complaint/>Speaking with TorrentFreak, CODA notes that it was not in any way involved in the earlier reported enforcement actions by Kakao Entertainment, which focused on remaining communities on Reddit and Discord. Similarly, Kakao was not involved in the high-profile criminal referral in China.ohnonono
Honestly I'm surprised they didn't it sooner. Don't they link mangaplus for the shonen jump manga published there?
>>286175562>changed site design for no reason>it become way much worse>pages with updates now made for ants>manga labeled "pornographic" doesn't show up in your updates, you can look for them only in latest
>>286207979I'd say it's worse that you cannot add new entries on your own, but fair enough.
>>286201681Download magazines.
>>286207979>manga labeled "pornographic" doesn't show up in your updatesbut it doesthing that pisses me off is that you can't filter your library by the status you setI can't see which manga have I put on "plan to read" and my "reading" and "completed" entries are clogging up my library
>>286207979>>pages with updates now made for ants>>manga labeled "pornographic" doesn't show up in your updates, you can look for them only in latestworks fine on my machine>>286208351u can
>>286208393you can filter by status in the old version, dev must have forgotten to add it back.
>>286184250good.remember when z-library got 'taken down' and everyone freaked out ?when in reality it was still accessible all that time if you used tor ?i'm all for retard-proofing piracy and driving it back under mainstream attention if it filters people who don't know how to use a tracker or the concept of mirror domains.
I just keep a txt file with the names of shit I read and every now and then google a title to read all the new chapters on whatever's the first search result. If I really like it, I download the volumes on AB or goddess. Am I boomer? I dunno if it needs to be more complicated
>>286208393>but it doesI checked now, and it seems it kinda glitching both for when adding and removing titles, so they don't appear/disappear immediately, and status doesn't change right away. I hardly can blame my browser for this, can I?>>286208430>works fine on my machineCan you make screenshot of the latest updates? Because I tested it in both fox and chromium and it looks the same.
>>286190486The fact Mangadex wants to go corpo in fucking Britain is hilarious since Britain is not exactly an anime and manga friendly country compared to France. Even for normalfags, nobody is launching startups in Britain
>>286188128Because comick dev did not practice opsec and used his real name for CloudFlare services even though CloudFlare revealed they were willing to snitch based on the past precedent from Viz demanding the identity of who approved uploads of Boruto chapters on Mangadex
>>286201581>readable quality People want the best quality available. Aside from a small number of series where scans exist, all raws are derived from the digital versions and they're always worse in some parts. Rip some yourself (from Kobo) and compare them to what's circulated on nyaa or those blogs. Given the trouble of downloading from there and the low price of digital manga, it's never worth it.
>>286208775What a fucktard.
>>286176581genius yukiposter
>>286208775the stupidity of adults to engage in shit that 100% absolutely will bring legal attention to you with your real name and identifiable information will absolutely boggle me.literally just make something up if anything up if a vpn or webhosting service is asking for it and use a disposable email like proton.

>>286175245>Batoto was retarded enough to host manhwasBatoto, the og one at least, was born with manhwas. Its first uploaded series was Tower of God.
>>286175245legit in what way? why would shueisha drop their own platform for them?
>>286210985they want to turn it into a indie webcomic website and are now slowly removing every manga from MD to turn it into the main platform for their indie comics
>>286211167>Indie webcomic siteBut that's what their other website NamiComi already is!
>>286211381it flopped and hardly has any traffic
>>286211381didn't namicomi buy mangadex or something like that?
>>286209141They are never going to get quality because nothing gets scanned in the age of digital raws.
>>286210934>>286175245iirc batoto was made by tower of god translator group because back then none of the available web readers supported seamless webtoon mode or vertical scrolling at all.
>>286192925Yeah but they almost all have discordsand if discord pushes their facial recognition bullshit hard enough they'll get something else

>>286211464NamiComi is owned and ran by the same people who owned and ran Mangadex so to give NamiComi some proper assets they sold Mangadex to NamiComi last August.
