It could have been really good, showing that a true hero is someone who perseveres despite losing it all and tries to do what good he can, no matter how little. The part where it fucked up was showing that Deku was a loser with a shitty job that no respected, not even his students, and that was abandoned by all his friends and his kinda girlfriend as soon as he lost his powers. The power armor was a shitty way to damage control the fumbled ending, and felt contrived. Overall though, it's not a horrible ending, just a disappointing one.

Even though Muzan spent the whole fight waving his arms around like a sped and they were saved multiple times by the deus ex medicine (which is still pretty valid) it still a much better fight than the Sukuna boss battle. The stipulation that he was a cursed object gave them so many outs that Choso was the only one who died against true form Sukuna, the “pinnacle” of jujutsu. They even have a post game breakdown where they discuss how they could’ve optimized the fight even more, and everyone else is totally fine, even Megumi. And during the fight, Sukuna was apparently not even trying either. So the good guys had 18 contingencies and Sukuna was not even trying. Compared to the Muzan fight where everyone is fighting as hard as possible and it’s a super desperate and intense battle, it’s just a way better fight.
