Per Furinkan: "A panel of narration refers to "the capital". In the original Japanese it specifies "teito" (帝都) which literally means "the imperial capital". The Empire of Japan existed from 1868–1947 with the end of World War II. The imperial capital was Tokyo, just as in modern Japan. They also remark about the term "spirited away": "When Mao mentions the missing children he says they were "spirited away", this is quite literally the way the word is used in Japanese as well. "Kamikaku" (神隠), the word for "spirited away" or "mysteriously disappear" is written with the kanji for "kami/spirits" and "hide", meaning "hidden by kami/spirits". The concept in English and Japanese pairs well together and gives the same connotation."

earlier when mao said the charm became a "cursed artifact" it was 呪物 (jubutsu) in japanese >>286200983
the goko clan tools have been called 呪具 (jugu) which i think viz has generally translated as "cursed tools"
i don't remember if 呪物 has come up before and what viz translated it as if it did, and i'm not sure if rumiko has even thought it through too much either... regardless, what's the difference between these two terms in-universe?
also, the other day i was wondering if new cursed tools could be made, after all things like that flute didn't materialize out of thin air right? and then there's how mao talked about exorcising the flute in this volume
if he can undo its cursed tool status, could he or someone else reapply it?
