>>286207862I liked the show too until the confrontation with Kurumizawa where Sawako finds out that Kurumi had been the one spreading malicious rumors about herself, her friends, and trying to steal her love interest away.Sawako stepping in to defend her was not sweet and goes beyond just naivety. I'd say that "nobody is that nice" but then I don't even think that's a kindness, I'd argue it was disloyal even. Imagine you find out some asshole has been doing everything they can to ruin your reputation and the reputations of your friends because they hate you and you respond by sticking up for them over your friends and try to protect the asshole from being publicly known as a malicious backbiter. That doesn't sit right.

This scene brought up memories of when my sister and her friends put makeup on me, up to telling me not to cry. To tell the truth I like my manga romcoms more on the zany side, but the sweetness and earnestness of the characters makes it really good.
