It was a mix of the villain seemingly overstaying their welcome, the new character possibly relating to the mysteries surrounding the main character who hadn't returned to Earth yet, and the revelation soon afterward that it was actually the first win of Trunks' life and he genuinely needed Goku and co.'s help against the Androids.
