That's pretty likely but very unfortunate. Their initial scuffle at Amaterasu went a long way at starting their dynamic and began actually making Dragon feel like a character since we started to see the fact that he wanted Arthur to be up to the challenge of killing him. With the screentime that's probably going to be alloted to it now I could see them even excluding the fact that it's Dragon's despair that plays a large role in maintaining the Cataclysm or just barely glancing over it.

In case anyone is worried the show will end on chapter 302 instead of 304, I think it will end at the latter due to chapter titles. Every episode so far are takes from the manga, and none of the chapters before 302 really have a fitting title for the last episode (Divine Judgment doesn't scream last episode worthy). The last two chapters are the only ones with fitting names (like A World Without Infernals and A Hero's Tale) for the last episode. That's my theory...

What they are adapting is good but the issue is what they're choosing to omit was amazing. Charon's death for instance is even better in the manga because he aims the firepower from his explosion back at them which Maki and Hinawa have to redirect and shoot at Dragon
And with that last bit, what they've skipped for Arthur was some of the best content in the series which is a lead up to the best of it.

Arthur was supposed to fight Dragon outside Amaterasu but still not be able to beat him (more of a standstill for the most part), not go inside it.
Charon's suicide bomb was supposed to be a full on nuke but they redirect it to Dragon to knock him off into space for a while.
After the Cataclysm starts, Giovanni fucks off in Yu's body and Arthur pulls Vulcan aside to help him learn how to play Dragon Quest and finally beat it. While they play, they relate stuff happening in the game to some minor fights that happen with the 1st and 4th Squads fighting Doppelgangers (Doppel Rekka and Doppel Hague respectively). Afterwards, Arthur has learned all he needs and uses the literal Dragon Quest spell "Zoom" to teleport to where Giovanni is and kill him the same way he did this episode. And then Dragon comes back and Arthur and Dragon fight.

THey're clearly skipping that whole interlude and just using Arthur "dungeon crawling" in real life inside Amaterasu as his mini training. We'll go right to the final round with Dragon instead of having the middle one.
