>>286221631Muteki Choujin Zambot 3 is good. The villain being an alien Abdullah The Butcher was neat. The human bomb stuff was suitably fucked up, especially the kid crying for his mommy. The ending was well done, even if the bigger bad's motivations are dubious at best I like this frame also. That said its only good, Sunrise would make like 40 shows better then this one.

There's a less known anime called Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica: It might not be for everyone, but it's a deconstruction of the magical girl genre and pretty dark. Recently, I even started watching Lucky Star, even though I've only watched 3 episodes. It has pretty advanced references to some formative works, not your average shounen. Also, I have some old classics like Haruhi and K-On! on my PTW, might watch soon after I finish Bocchi the Rock.
