A new manga the artist of Rosen Garten Saga started late last year, written by Toshiki Inoue of Tokusatsu (and various other things) fame. It deals with the mysterious Japanese transfer students known for their outlandishness, except these ones seem to top them all, and they've basically invaded all of Tokyo?! As expected from Inoue, I'm gonna read more but I'm guessing these transfer students help nurture whatever trauma the person they attach to is holding onto? Itsurou was only picked because he was the most excellent, so he had a fear of getting replaced, Kyouji fills that and makes his "shadow" do those things, fulfilling his "wish" and then eats it when it's most ripe? Pretty fun schlocky gory premise.

The second chapter doesn't have the student further the mental troubles of the victims that much IMHO, she basically just watches things devolve on their own. Or maybe once they lick your shadow it's able to become a physical representation of your inner desires?

The transfer student in 1 is just more proactive than the transfer student in 2 who was just picking between the students to see which ever one would be the tastiest, she had more options it seemed too. I think them licking the shadow is them testing the flavour and seeing the potential, when the girl likes Itsurou's shadow, she says it's shallow but has potential, so I think it's them trying to find the best ones to "fatten" up and wait until they're inner negative emotions make it tasty to them. The end of the 2nd chapter is also so brutal, I've only seen Inoue's tokusatsu works and I love them, but I never knew he could be so brutal. Giving her eyesight back just as she's hanging herself is so cruel.It'd be nice to see this animated we need more horror/thriller with tons of gore and mean-spirited writing.
