I've never actually seen E7:AOIt's always been one of those sequels-to-great-shows-/a/-says-are-shit sort of like Darker than Black Ryuusei no Gemini or all the Geass sequels. I actually bit the bullet and tried one of those and gave the Eva Rebuilds a shot and realized /a/ was right and they did suck shit.Is E7:AO any different? What is so bad about it anyway?
>>286229976RENTON GETS TO FUCK THAT?
>>286230048The sequel it needed.
>>286229976>Is E7:AO any different? It tricks you into thinking it may be pretty good but it loses itself once they start using the Quartz Gun and digging into timeline fuckery.I'm sure somebody has a more indepth list on why it sucks but that's when I remember thinking the show was really going to shit
>>286229976E7:AO is best thought of it's own thing. I'd say it is interesting if you take it by it's own merits as a very international sci-fi mecha series and it's themes on the naturalistic fallacy, but it's quite orthogonal to the romantic themes of the OG.It's soundtrack is quite good though (composed by a alt rock guy) and still alot better than most shows today. If you're nostalgic for the early 2010s era then it does keep those vibes.
>>286229976>boring drama>boring characters>shitting on the coral plot>drop quite interesting Renton depressing adventures bait after ED of one of the last episodes>go on hiatus for like 2+ months>release the last two episodes with the wet fart ending by the courtesy of the retcon gunThe only good part of the "sequel" was the music.
