Should I subscribe to MANGA Plus by SHUEISHA? I feel bad for reading manga illegally on pirate sites. Maybe my brain is weird. I know Kodansha has their own app called K Manga but unfortunately it's not available in my country.

unless you live in Japan, they don't give a fuck about foreign sales. If you want to support your favorite author that bad buy the manga from japan.
>>286242237>Should I subscribe to...The answer is always 'no.'
>Paying to get the exact same thing you already have for free but worse since you're not owning it anymoreAt least buy physical volumes if you wanna spend money
>>286242237>should I pay money for [anything on topic to this board]No you fucking retard.
>>286242237renting digital content is a genuine scam, you should not feel bad about this
>>286242355You don't have to live in Japan to buy Japanese releases, especially not with digital ones.
The only truly good service they have, one that has been in Japan for a long time and only recently implemented in the west, is the ability to request a manga (still in japanese) page printed onto a white t-shirt. It's overpriced for what it is but it's a step in the right direction.
>>286242355>they don't give a fuck about foreign salesThey definitely care about us stealing it though.
>>286242237It's worth if you plan on reading a series from start to finish, especially a lengthy oneYou can always just subcsribe when you need to read
>>286242237>I feel badImagine feeling bad for soulless companies that make millions of dollars, even more, every month.I'm sure are worth your empathy.
>>286242237I use Manga Plus only for reading Thermae Romae redux, and I can read it for free (except for one chapter)
I get the feeling piracy doesn’t affect sales as much as the industry would like you to believe. I’m lucky enough that I can afford to buy a decent amount of manga physically so I’m doing my part. I still read some manga through piracy though.
>>286242237Never pay for something you can't pick up with your hands or download to you HDD.
>>286243981Piracy never affect any sales. If piracy could really kill any industry, the cheese-pizza industry should have been dead long ago.
>>286243981Kinda reminds me of that recent ad that included characters whose manga has never legally been available in my country. How exactly are they losing a sale from me if they were never trying to make one in the first place?
>>286242237>>286242355>>286242398>>286242405To give a genuine answer, most piracy sites are fucking shit for big name Shueisha works if you're reading from a... telephone... so mangaplus is good in that regard. But that's literally only if your reading list includes One Piece, Bleach, Naruto, etc. and you're too lazy to pirate the volumes.
>>286242237>I feel bad for reading manga illegally on pirate siteswhy? the gov should be funding anime and manga instead of using the taxes to traffic children and start wars.
Nice marketing thread
