>Complete psychopath who felt nothing from brutally killing other humans even after realizing it was all real
>Just thought about what he could take from them
>Instantly okay with participating in selling a man into slavery because said man stole a bandana
>Starts putting in the most effort in his life but only to just buy a slave dog-girl he found attractive

And this dude is somehow supposed to be the relatable self-insert protag? Are all Isekai made by and made for psychopathic, soulless human-beings? Scary to think a character like this was made for self-insertion. What's funny is that the MC isn't even supposed to be the "bad guy" in this story, but he might as well be. Anyone who's only hearing of this would think he's supposed to be the villain. When will more anime/manga made for normal humans be prominent again, and not just more of this vapid jerk-off fantasy slop for future criminals?

>supposed to be the relatable self-insert protag
What are you basing that on?
I don't even know the show, but it seems like you're angry about your own hallucinations.

That series is only good for wanking to Sherry. Put the bland murderous sociopath out of your mind.

Probably the fact that he's generic loser with black hair and an ahoge #134345

Just look at him

Ah I wish we get more scum narou MC adaptions. OP doesn't even know that this MC is counted as a nice guy on narou scumbag scale.
>>
>>286264547
What are some of the even "nicer" guys?
>>
>>286263765
He actually is, the writer is just completely out of touch, as typical for naroushit. It's baffling how closely the series borders on self-awareness at the start, but once he buys the slave it just turns into a boring, generic harem.

This is literally me. I support every single one of his choices because it's what I'd have done. I really like watching him enjoy his life

Yes. You finally understand.

My biggest issue with this show is that it's called Harem in the Labyrinth or whatever, but he only has 1 sex slave for the whole show.

You didn't see the last episode? Also you can kind of blame Passione for that. Instead of speed running to the harem to get the max impact from this otherwise forgettable trash they actually adapted it seriously and paced it along with the source material. Which I admire, but they were clearly aiming for "more cours" and nobody watched it.

Man newfags like OP are so embarrassing.

Also I guess I'll explain this since OP and the like minded retards don't understand what caused this kind of shift in general.
One of the major reasons Narou became so popular is tied to a shift in audience frustration with earlier light novel and anime protagonists.

For a long period especially throughout the late 2000s and early 2010s many mainstream series relied on what people often call the “nice guy protagonist” archetypes even stuff like SAO. These main characters were usually passive, morally spotless, endlessly kind, and socially awkward, yet somehow succeeded romantically or heroically simply because they were “good people.” Characters like Kirito from SAO became symbolic of this trend as competent, polite, rarely morally challenged, and almost universally admired within their stories.

Over time, a portion of the audience began feeling fatigue toward this formula. The criticism wasn’t necessarily that these characters were kind but that their kindness often felt cheap. Many viewers felt these characters were written to be broadly likable rather than psychologically believable.

This eventually created a backlash among readers.
When Narou web fiction exploded in popularity, it offered something noticeably different protagonists driven by survival, self-interest, revenge, ambition, or pragmatism rather than pure altruism. Stories like Re:Monster despite tons of people disliking it introduced main characters who openly prioritized power, efficiency, or personal benefit. These protagonists weren’t afraid to manipulate situations, exploit systems, or make morally gray sometimes outright ruthless decisions if it meant achieving their goals. So yes selfish protagonists became a thing after decade of ridiculous 'lawful' MCs and thus most readers were sick of it.

>ahoge
Why do they always do this?
>>
>>286266326
Oh and btw series in the OP was actually one of the first ones who broke this sort of artificial barrier of what you could and couldn't do in a conventional LN.
It is absolutely unapologetic in what it does although being one of the first ones to do it I'd say the niceness is still there to a degree but the shift in selfishness is very apparent still.

Unfortunately a large chunk of normalfags prefer to get their understanding of isekai from hearsay, tikfag, or even ecelebs like faggot's fagment. Anything but actually trying to look things up or, god forbid, actually watch/read any isekai.
