If the ending turns out to be some nonsense like “One Piece is the friends you meet along the way,” that would be so boring.

>>
>>286472545
How many retards have the time and money to do deep sea recovery? People on this site found the 9gag meme stone and nothing happened to it
>>
It's a pun. The treasure is actually "Won Peace".

The main reason I think this is because Romance Dawn called good pirates "Peace Mains", so the English word "peace" was already in Oda's head before he decided on the title of the series. Then he discovered "peace" can also be written as "piece" and inspiration struck.
>>

>>
Is it legal to just leave shit in the sea in Japan?
Won't environmental groups get uppity about it?
>>
>>286472845
Except you know... For an ARG to work you need CLUES.

The only clue for this hunt is 'we dropped this shit somewhere in the ocean' at least in the actual manga it was established first that the one piece was located somewhere beyond the grandline, and then later that it was hidden in the island of Laughtale, hidden from sight and reachable to only those who know how to read the poneglyphs or have some magic 'cheat' compasses who luffy will destroy because thats not fun.

Oda of fucking course is not gonna tell the people what are the coordinates of the dropzone, much less leaving clues and of course, even if it is somewhere in the coasts of japan (which i fucking doubt!), the japanese navy is gonna cooperate with toei to ensure noone will do something as reckless or retarded as to try to hunt for the treasure. Because if he were to leave a hint for people to try and locate it he, shueisha, toei and the govt. Of japan altogether would face a severe lawsuit in case people start dying.

For one, retard and money overlap a lot and I don´t trust people to mess with shit.
>>
A cursory look at Wikipedia shows that only 4.38% of the global seafloor is 201-1000 meters deep. It's deep enough to be far away from the coast and part of the deep sea, but still rather shallow by deep sea standards. Considering that Oda lives in Japan, the Pacific Ocean is the most likely ocean.

This should narrow things down a fair bit, I think.

My theory is that Imu tried to use his Reversi powers to flip the entire planet. Which created the Red Line. The planet closely resembles someone being flipped by his power. I think it got halted halfway through.
Following Reversi rules you need to surround the piece on either side to flip it. To flip something like a planet you would need some equivalent to count as game pieces. The only equivalent I can think of would be the moon.
So I theorize that there was once a 2nd moon.
On a day with 2 black moons Imu tried to flip the planet. But one of the moons was taken out of play to stop it. Maybe shrunk with a DF power or something.
So I think One Piece is that 2nd moon. Hidden away and sealed somewhere.
It's literally one game piece that can turn the world upside down.
And it's a truly ridiculous story that would make Roger laugh.
When One Piece is found they can use it to reverse the flip and eliminate the Red Line, creating All Blue.
I think the half-flip also released a ton of evil into the world and reversing it will make it go away.

I suspect that Raftel itself IS this 2nd moon shrunken down to the size of an island.
Roger's crew couldn't do anything with it because they lacked the DF power to restore the moon to its original size.
I think the DF power to control size is on Elbaph. Fitting for the giants. And it explains the unbelievably massive sword.
The Strawhats will acquire the fruit or an ally with the fruit (Loki) and later use it to unlock One Piece.

What if the answer is right here in front of us. The treasure is the island. Roger immediately refers to it as this “final island” in quotation marks, as if someone else referenced it to him, the person in this case would be JoyBoy. Roger laughed and was talking directly to JoyBoy through VOAT. If we go off this thread, the message was probably something of a will giving the island to whoever gets there, including all the treasures and historical artifacts. Mixed this with the “vast treasure” we should assume Laugh Tale is actually a ridiculously massive glorious kingdom, that became Roger’s, that will become Luffy, a true Pirate King with a Kingdom.

Oda has said the One Piece is something the strawhats deserve after their travels, so an island to call home makes sense. Sanji’s good future has him casually being able to fish in All Blue, makes sense that Laugh Tale is next to it. Franky would be able to eventually adjust the heating on the island, most likely using Egghead/Vegapunk tech. Literally all of Luffy’s friends, including the fishman who’s island will still be destroyed by Luffy can live there (or around there in All Blue, still making use of it’s resources).
>>
>>286478417
or more likely is it's just in his office

>>286471719
One Piece is a tale. We can see Roger holding some kind of book or paper. The text will be in ancient language so Robin’s final task will be to read the tale for the crew and ourselves.

there will be people out there determined (or demented) enough as to go to that unknown spot and dive for the treasure to finally get some closure before they fucking die. after all, if Oda plans to retrieve the treasure and open it AFTER the end of the series, then what is the point? people would have learned already by reading the manga.

>Luffy will be true pirate king to real pirate because he punched the bad guys the hardest and won’t care about the title because he’s free to adventure
>Shanks will fight his twin and dad (who honestly cares though)
>Big Mom and Kaido will join Luffy
>Luffy and Blackbeard will team up vs imu
>Luffy will share nika with the grand fleet
>Imu will have some sort of initial good intentions storyline but will have been corrupted via something
>Back in joy boy and imus era clans had devil fruit powers naturally but corrupted imu turned them into devil fruits or maybe joyboy turned them into devil fruits as a way of preserving their legacy
>joy boy will remain a silhouette
I think all these are highly likely

Oda could literally draw himself in the background of the next chapter of One Piece dropping shit down to the bottom of the ocean and shouting “suck my dick you faggots” and they couldn’t do shit.
the ocean is freedom
throwing shit into the ocean is the actualization of that freedom

what if it was not shrunk but sent to the future. there is some write up on the theory out there, about how there is a game state in reversi where one party runs out of pieces and can't win and will get reverse sweeped after that. no clue where to find it though.
there was also something about the 4 bridges buing built in there and how imu is trying to pull a full metal alchemist. and how it ties to rogers quote "let's turn the world upside down"

In normal circumstances the second moon would cause a second, weaker set of tides that could either strenghten or weaken the tides from the first moon, depending on their current orbital position

If it's two equal moons on the same orbit but on the opposite sides of the planet, there would be a huge tides where the moons are, and a very low tides in between (could even leave the ocean floor exposed in extreme circumstances)
So it would be 2 giant seas with a Red Line in the middle except the Red Line spins with the moons

thats nice and all, but... is it really a good idea to try and retrieve the treasure?
after all, Oda said he would go retrieve it and open it once the manga ends. not to mention the jap govt. is also part of this, and probably the last thing they would want is for people to risk their lives just like that.

personally, at most people should just go and prove they found the location, but not retrieve and open the treasure, and let oda do his thing.

9 replies and no one pointed out the mistake
he said it's not "the friends along the way" but something that can be touched.
now my 2 cents is that it's something that has personal value and not value in of itself, but also revealing what it is would shake the world.
