It's cheap and if I'm invested in the fight (I was and am for the reread) I don't need to be spoiled. For the first fight it was just pointless, I didn't like Chiba and knew the first time around he would lose anyways cause obviously. The timer was a nice concept at least. For this fight it's super obvious but let me spoiler it anyways. It's Cosmo on the ground. The only mystery now is if he wins while passing out or not. Which really fucks with the shock aspect of this fight and the brutalizing he goes through. I'm able to look back on it well not remembering this but having a shitty preview pisses me off. I don't need to be hyped with the end of a match if I give a shit about at least one of the characters fighting. If I was a massive Akoya fan I would be even more sore after this match. If I was a massive Cosmo fan I'd be pissed about what's essentially a cheap subversion fake out ending premonition near the start of the match misleading me. Since I close to equally like both it's just bad.

Zone is such a dumb concept for a trump card. Not in the sense that it’s OP or anything, but in the context of a fighting manga like this it’s just one of those things that feels like a “no shit” move that any experienced fighter can do.It’s just baiting your opponent into overcommitting to an attack and slipping through when they’re completely focused but that’s just…the basic concept of a bait and counter. It’s also something that feels like the opponent could easily counter bait because how do you know they’re completely committed to their attack? It’s not like they flash red like a video game character when throwing their punch.As far as character gimmicks go it feels super low on the list but is hyped up as this amazing thing only a prodigy like Cosmo can do.
