I prefer Im@s 2011 but it's not because of the drama lol. Some of the drama in fact hurt the show like the Miki shit with Ryuugu Komachi (the date was cute though). It's not like Love Live doesn't have any drama either
Love Live excels over Im@s with its overall better character interactions and giving equal spotlights to each member. Hanayo is probably the one with the least spotlight but she still has more characterization than Ami, Mami, Yayoi, Yukiho or Azusa. Hibiki's focus episode famously did nothing to advance her character and instead threw her off a cliff. Takane's focus episode does nothing to give the viewers more information surrounding her and at the end it's completely hijacked by Chihaya
