>>286605190>TOKYO MX: Sunday at 22:30Man, that's crazy. Guess they are gonna entirely aim at the demographic that grew up with the older Pierrot shows instead of trying to get a modern kids audience too. Might be a bit unnecessarily dooming, but I could see a theoretical Aikatsu revival doing the same approach in a few years, just skip the whole arcade aspect and do a short show focused on appealing to that preexisting fanbase.
>>286604359I can’t picture most characters using traditional weapons, but the cast is remarkably easy to picture fightan game movesets for>Himari: puppet character with Moogs>Mii: overly violent knife stabbing >Mugi: summons aimu and can teleport around>Sakura: equips different sets of Mii-tan merch, ie fast glowsticks or slow dekaMii-pan swings>Tamaki: whip and dark lightning zoner >Rinrin: pure strength punches and bear hug grapples >Airi: wide variety of wacky gadgets and inventions >Chii: guitar swings and music note attacks with a Dark Chii install
>>286605472>Guess they are gonna entirely aim at the demographic that grew up with the older Pierrot showsThey can aid in this by including pantsu shots, still mad Miho never got any
>>286605190I still don't think this looks or sounds like a kids show.
>>286605472>I could see a theoretical Aikatsu revival doing the same approach in a few years, just skip the whole arcade aspect and do a short show focused on appealing to that preexisting fanbase....that's what Harada-P said the goal of Demikatsu is, to see what they can do with the franchise in lieu of any anime or game while still being appealing to fans. The primary backlash against Demikatsu is that there is no game of any kind attached to it so I'm doubtful that any kind of future Aikatsu revival would skip out on a game at this point. BNP's producer said they'd consider making more movies depending on how Katsupara does so I think that's the more likely direction they'd go in rather than a TV anime.
>>286605629Anythings on the table I guess, like the only thing I remember from the few episodes of Pastel Yumi I saw was her getting naked.
>>286605902Yeah, to be fair, I don't seriously see a TV revival either at this point. Making and marketing a new arcade line is such a ridiculously risky move that I can't see them doing that again, too much time has passed at this point and the little friends don't know what Aikatsu is anymore. A revolving door of new anniversary movies/OVAs is at least safe and guaranteed money, which is obviously attractive for a business.
Still need to watch the newer movie AND it's been a while since I touched KinPri, but apparently Jin's live had the pair charms he can no longer see after becoming evil? That makes me pity him for some reason, and makes me wonder if he'll ever find some sort of redemption, given he really messed up with Ryou and Hijiri's lives, is it even possible at this point?
>>286606266Jin's live is from the past before he went bad so the charms were still with him then. KinTour has some minor reconciliation between him and Hijiri over their father's grave, though Jin hasn't given up on beating Hijiri I wouldn't say redemption is out of the question. The audio drama and stage play version of the movie expanded on what a pure angel Jin used to be too.

>>286607232A couple of the questions are unattributed to either director so I just labeled those ones with Director (NAME HERE) based on context. I'll give the VA interviews another look tomorrow but they look like mostly fluff at first glance.Bad TL 1/>The series is finally reaching its climax and the time to say goodbye to Himari and the others is drawing near. How do you feel after the last 2 years?>Fujisaki: When the planning for the Ring Arc began, I heard that Himari and Mitsuki's series would end in its 2nd year. For the 2nd year, I had considered making Mitsuki the main character so I worked to create the finale cenered around her. As for the story, the upcoming episode 100 was one of our goals so I feel like we've finally finished one chapter. Personally, I've always thought of Himitsu no AiPri as more like a live performance than an anime work, so I feel like we should wrap up the show nicely with a live. >Yamaguchi: The Ring Arc focused on Mitsuki, and delved deeper into the relationship between Himari and Mitsuki while weaving in her studying abroad to hint at their "breakup" Although their friendship is strong, Mitsuki seeks to leave behind the everyday life she shares with Himari and pursue a new path on her own. It wasn't just about the sadness of their parting, I think we were able to depict the growth of the two characters as they overcame that. I think you'll understand once you watch all the way to the final episode, episode 102. >AiPri is essentially a dream space for children, but Mitsuki doesn't stop there, she also aims to become a professional singer in the real world, right?>Fujisaki: Perhaps she intends to pursue a professional career and then come back to pickup Himari again. That's a story for the distant future.>From the very beginning, the Ring Arc foreshadowed the seperation of Himari and Mitsuki. Was that also because it was decided it would end in its 2nd year?
>>286613280Bad TL 2/>Fujisaki: Of course it was. The two of them had already reached their goal of become Star AiPri in the first year. So, when it came to deciding what to do next, Ring-hime gives them a new goal, becoming Eternal AiPri, but that is ultimately just a goal for any AiPri right? When I think about what these kids' own goals might be, I thought it might be to "see the wider world and further improve themselves". So that's how Mitsuki ends up studying abroad. Also the idea that friendship remains unchanged even when apart was already expressed in the lyrics of their duo songs Kizuna x Link and Miracle Twin Smile. I was conscious of that too. >The story of the Ring Arc revolves around the 5 Buzzlume Changes. The motifs and themes were matched and assigned as individual drams for each team. >Yamaguchi: This season's competition is not a tournament style battle, but rather a contest themed around different emotions. The concept of the 5 themes: excitement, longing, confidence, courage, and trust, was first proposed by the original creator at T-Arts. Following these emotions, Ring-hime gradually regain her heart piece by piece while the bonds between the AiPri and others grows even stronger. >Was it already decided which AiPri would successfully perform which Buzzlume Change?>Yamaguchi: That's right. Each contest has a specific AiPri it focused on based on the game's development. If it's Juria and Elle, we create a drama themed around "exciting heart pounding moments". And so the other AiPri who participate in the contests also grow and become more emotionally enriched. At the same time, Ring-hime's heart gradually begins to revive. >Was the premise that Ring-hime would slowly regain her emotions also from the original creators' side?>Fujisaki: No that was decided through our discussion with them. At first, only two things were decided, that there was a chracter called Ring-hime and that she was an AI.
>>286613296Bad TL 3/>So the real Wako-sensei didn't exist at first.>Fujisaki: Wako was created after the idea that Ring-hime was once a human AiPri was established. In my opinion, since the current AiPriVerse's setting is that of the 2nd generation, the concept of Wako as a character emerged from thoughts like "Maybe the system was updated because Ring-hime had some kind of accident and disappeared?" and "Could the person involved be a human AiPri?". So we based it around the concept like Sleeping Beauty, where the AiPri must successfully complete the 5 buzzlume changes to awaken her from her slumber. >Yamaguchi: Wako was once an amazing AiPri who achieved 5 buzzlume changes all by herself under the name Ring Clover. However, she loses her memories in an accident and was left with nothing. That makes her sound like a tragic heroine, but she doesn't see it negatively that way. She accepted the situation with the utmost positivity and uses it to find a new dream. As a step in that direction, she's now working as a librarian at the school. Nagisa Saito, who plays Wako, is not a professional voice actress, so the atmosphere of her acting was a little different from everyone else. I think that worked in a good way.>The accident that causes her to lose her memory happened right after she met Mitsuki, right?>Fujisaki: That's right. In episode 95 it's revealed that the accident occured on the night of Ring-hime's 15th birthday, but she had given Mitsuki the ring during the day.
>>286613323Bad TL 4/>Yamaguchi: At that time, Ring-hime wanted to put on a good live but she couldn't be positive about AiPri and so it was causing her stress. She was putting pressure on herself to work hard and it became impossible for her to enjoy herself. Meeting Mitsuki gave her the strength to move forward, and she achieves her long cherished goal of all five buzzlume changes at once. However, the system couldn't handle it and went haywire, causing her memories and personality to be split apart. After time passed, Ring-hime after remaining in AiPriVerse met Tsumugi, Himari, and Mitsuki and gradually rediscovered her joy for AiPri. Wako on the other hand, grew up and found her own path seperate from AiPri. That's how each of them grew. >Fujisaki: Just before Wako achieved her buzzlume change, Mitsuki said Ring-hime was her favorite AiPri, and from that Wako realized she had given someone hope. She had worries about everything up until this point, but knowing her feelings were received made her feel rewarded. That became the source of her strength, but also caused tragedy to occur. Now that Mitsuki knows the truth of the incident, I wonder what she thinks about it, but we deliberately chose not to delve into that in the main story. >You decided on these past dramas early on and then built up the story for the Ring Arc.>Fujisaki: We had decided that once Ring-hime regains her emotions, Wako would also regain her memories, and something major would happen. >Yamaguchi: That's right.>Fujisaki: As Ring-hime herself builds relationships with Himari and the others, she begins to regain her emotions that lead her to experience things differently from Wako. This meant that Wako and Her could no longer be together and would become seperate entities. However, we hadn't decided on the details of the "major incident" beforehand, we developed the idea as we went along. Like was their homeroom teacher, Sarashina-sensei, scheming something behind the scenes?
>>286613346>Yamaguchi: He even secretly gave Vivi the AiPri Bracelet (laughs). >Fujisaki: I was pushing for Sarashina as the mastermind you know. Since he was voiced by Koji Yusa afterall (laughs).>Yamaguchi: There was the idea to have Sarashina-sensei orchestrate the whole thing, but we felt that if the adult characters got too involved, it would be difficult for the children watching to empathize with. More importantly, since I didn't want to make the story too complicated, we set it up in a more diplomatic way: "the teacher acted alone because he loved his sister Wako". >By the way, Ring-hime's old fashioned way of speaking like "warawa -- ja" was a character trait Wako created right? >Fujisaki: That's right (laughs). As Ring Clover within AiPriVerse, she created a character with that kind of tone of voice. However, since the character was so different from Wako's own personality, continuing it for so long might have been too exhausting for her.>Ring-hime seemed like a spoiled princess at first, but she wasn't the moody type to boss people around was she?>Yamaguchi: I didn't want to make her a kid with a really unpleasant personality.>Fujisaki: Pretty Series has a policy of creating something "that little girls aspire to be" so we did our best to think things through in a way that would fit that vision. For example, we don't feature children that make fun of adults, right? Even if they're being selfish, it's only a little bit. Like Chii, she's just trying to show off but she's a hardworking good girl you know.
>>286613373Bad TL 6/>Yamaguchi: With Chii, there was an instance where she lashed out harshly towards Vivi out of jealousy, but she quickly reflected on it and resolved the issue. I think a warm relationship between senpai and kohai was formed. >Fujisaki: That was only possible because of Chii's drama in the first year.>I think it was a drama that felt true to real life for girls.>Fujisaki: The character from the Ring Arc each had their own emotional theme so we focused on creating a drama that fit those themes, and so from the scriptwriting stage we made sure to delve deeply into the characters' inner thoughts. Thanks to this, I feel like the characters have all grown rapidly even from the first pair Love JurieL. >Yamaguchi: THat's right>Fujisaki: Juria was always intended to be a modern girl, but Elle was originally planned as a girl who aspired to be an idol. But I felt that made her character a too weak, so outside of AiPriVerse we gave her a literary character with glasses and the polar opposite of her Verse self was born. From there it kept triggering chemistry between the characters.... Episode 57, The Two After the Rain, was my idea, I drew a rough sketch and proposed it during the script writing saying "I want to create a scene like this!". >Yamaguchi: Come to think of it, it also rained in the scene Chii tells her backstory right? In the scene where Juria and Elle express their feelings to each other, we wanted to visually portray their friendship. I wanted to beautifully depict the moment when the rain stops and the sun comes out as the confess their mutual feelings and become friends.
>>286613410Bad TL 7/>Fujisaki: They're middle shool students, but we wanted to respect the feelings of the 5-6 year old girls who are watching. Children at that age don't hold back on expressing their feelings right? I wanted to properly express the straightforward feelings of "love" between friends. Buzzlume changes are fundamentally tied to the expression of emotion in the first place, so you can't just deny that part and say it's no good right?>Yamaguchi: The same goes for Jumping Rocket.>Fujisaki: I never thought Otome would develop this much as a character. At first I thought it would be difficult to depict an older sister character.>Yamaguchi: That's right. Subaru was also our first attempt at making a male character one of the protogonists and we hadn't depicted the relationship between siblings much even in the first year. It was quite a challenge but Subaru naturally blended in with the other members. He looks so cool and yet he doesn't seem out of place hanging out with Himari and the other right?>Fujisaki: That's largely thanks to the efforts of Kobatatsu.>Yamaguchi: I hope we can create points that resonate well with the children watching, letting them link the ideas to their own relationships with family and friends. That's true for every character. >Fujisaki: There was no reason to depict gender difference like "because he's a boy" or "because she's a girl" in AiPri. I think the only character who really emphasizes his masculinity is Neppa-sensei (laughs).>Yamaguchi: (laughs).>Mitsuki's story was built on 2 pillars: her encounter with Ring-hime in the past and her current problems with studying abroad.
>>286613423>Fujisaki: When we decided to do the Ring Arc, we already decided from the start that Mitsuki would be the first to "graduate". Not in the sense of a school graduation but more about taking a mental step forward. That's why I also decided to depict Mitsuki's past as part of it. So by introducing a character who represents Mitsuki's past, Wako-sensei, and by gradually unraveling Wako's mystery, something within Mitsuki begins to grow and thus she starts to look more towards the future. Then we layered this with the dramas of the other AiPri. >Yamaguchi: In the first year we depicted Himari and Tsumugi's past to establish Himari's characters, so this time we focused on Mitsuki and incorporated her connection to Ring-hime. >For us adults, a year of studying abroad seems like a blink of an eye but from the perspective of a young child it's quite different isn't it?>Fujisaki: Yes, even a month seems incredibly long to children. The weight of "not being able to see my best friend for a whole year" was created for the perspective of children watching. Mitsuki had shown some interest in studying abroad for some time now. That's why the feeling kept deepening thoughout the Ring Arc. Also as the second year began, many unique and charming AiPri appeared and she may have felt a certain wall or limit to her own AiPri. Although the AiPri Contest wasn't about winning or losing like the AiPri Grand Prix, there still must have been a feeling of frustration at "not being chosen". It also made her think there was something missing in her. In a similar sense, Mitsuki was also stretching herself thin. >Yamaguchi: Ultimately I wanted to showcase Mitsuki's growth in a visually and dramatic way at the end. Her appearance will changed slightly so please look forward to the final episode. >As for Himari's growth, the Himari we see in the story about Mitsuki's study abroad is truly admirable isn't she?
>>286613452Bad TL 9/>Yamaguchi: Compared to Mitsuki, Himari is still rather immature. She feels a strong sense of anxiety and loneliness as Mitsuki walks towards her future without her. However as she watches Mitsuki, she gradually begins to understand the meaning of her actions, and Himari slowly begins to grow as well. Himari is a genius type of AiPri, so she isn't very self aware of how to handle these things by herself. That's precisely why she ended up falling behind. On the other hand, Mitsuki is the type who succeeds through hard work and having witnessed Himari's incredible talent first hand, she decides to study abroad because of a determination to work even harder. This leads to a misunderstanding between them. But in the end, both of them grow because of it... Of course, Mitsuki had a stronger desire to grow, but Himari also showed her own willingness to change. Fujisaki: This was already shown in episode 2 of the first year right? Actually Mitsuki has always harbored this complex about Himari.>Yamaguchi: Even in episode 1, when Himari suddenly succeeded with her live, Mitsuki watched it with a smile but jealousy must have already begun to sprout at that stage. In anime terms, since it was the first episode she held back from showing her heart's frustration but inside Mitsuki complex emotions were stirring. If you friend's live was a success, it's natural to feel a sense of admiration for it. But if someone suddenly shows off a performance that's wildly better than anything you've ever done, you don't just feel pure happiness right?>Fujisaki: Of course in Mitsuki's case, she's the type who tends to think "what should I do?" before harboring to any negative feelings. >Following that progression, Himari's feelings gradually shifted towards "properly sending Mitsuki-chan off", as seen in episode 90.
>>286613466Bad TL 10/>Fujisaki: She's grown as a person hasn't she? Even in episode 87 during the parent-teacher conference, Himari's mom even says something like "Himari's doing fine now" right? However, she becomes too complacent and thinks her parting with Mitsuki is still a ways off, only for it to come much sooner as a sudden turn of events. When confronted with this reality, the old Himari would have said "I don't want that" but now she realizes she can't let Mitsuki's dream be cut short because of her. For episode 90, I gave precise instructions from the plot stage on how I wanted it to be. And in the end, the monitor was filled with Mitsuki's smiles. I also asked Izumi Mori (TL note: didn't have a chance to look up if I got their name right) to create original music specifically for the sequence. I thought that if I couldn't make this an impactful memorable scene, Himari's resolve for the future wouldn't be convincing. >Yamaguchi: That's right.>Fujisaki: That's why episode 90 was quite the crucial episode. >However, despite coming up with that resolve in episode 90, Himari still runs away when confronted with hearing that story directly. That emotional turmoil felt real. >Fujisaki: Even when you know it's coming, when you're finally faced with it.... that is the reality of human beings. After all, humans are inherently unstable. Children especially tend to act based on their immediate emotional reaction, so I felt I had to portray that head-on. Like "I knew it would happen but when the moment actually came, I froze up". >Yamaguchi: She thought she came to terms with it in her head but when someone says it to her face, her resolve wavers. That's so relatable isn't it?
>>286613392i know what you are
>>286613489Bad TL 11/>Fujisaki: I think it's a theme that's been explored a lot in old romance genres, but dealing with that kind of confrontation born from such emotional turmoil is still deeply emotion, so I felt it was something that should be incorporated into the story. The acting in the scene when the two "confessed" to each other in episode 93 was too good wasn't it! It was only thanks to the growth of Fujidera-san and Hiratsuka-san that we were able to create this. >Before reaching that scene, it was also well done how Ring-hime unleashed her power and provided everyone that push forward. >Fujisaki: With Ring-hime's heart completely restored, the desire to express these feelings to everyone explodes all at once, and in response everyone's hearts are moved. In episode 92, we saw how Himari's sorrow was conveyed through her live, but after all emotions are somthing that get through in ways beyond reason or logic. I think that's what lives are all about. You know how when you watch a live you feel things like "that was great" or "that was amazing"? That's the power of an artist I suppose, there's always something to be expressed.>Yamaguchi: The quality of the music was also essential for linking Himari's feelings to the release of Ring-hime's power. I think the lyrics added depth to the drama and enhanced its emotional impact.>In episode 94, the Valentine's day episode, Wako becomes interested in AiPri which leads to her merging with Ring-hime, ironically putting the current Ring-hime at risk of disappearing completely.
>>286613507Bad TL 12/>Fujisaki: "There was an error during login", a common problem in computer systems. Wako-sensei doesn't want to go back to being Ring-hime. Her path in life lies in the outside world now. I thought it'd be interesting to have a character deliberately say such things in AiPri. That's one part of it, and I geuss the other is part of what becoming an adult means. I made a conciouss effort not to portray people who follow their own path in a negative light. >The background music for the scene where Wako and Ring-hime fuse was perfectly synchronized wasn't it?>Fujisaki: From the very beginning when I thought about the scene composition, I had a pretty clear idea of what it should be like. So that was a piece I commissioned it after consult with the sound director with the intention of using it in this final act's development. Mori-san responded to that request perfectly. >In episodes 96 and 97, Himari and Mitsuki trace through Ring-hime's memories with the help of the other AiPri girls, it was rather exciting to see them supporting each other with their buzzlume changes.>Fujisaki: In this setting, lives hold overwhelming power and everything is resolve via lives. But I think that's actually true. Music, not just idols, have the power to change the world. I hope I was able to depict that >Yamaguchi: While reviewing the five emotions, it's also encouraging Ring-hime who had already accepted her own disappearance. The music itself alings with the themes so in that sense too, I think the music and drama were linked together well. >When did you decide that Wako and Ring-hime would not return to normal and would continue to live as seperate characters?
>>286613540Bad TL 13/>Fujisaki: For me, it was decide during the stage when we were first creating Wako. At that stage I remembered thinking "there's no way they could go back to the way it was". If they were to simply merge and revert back to the original, that would be too convenient wouldn't it? Since this is also a story about the character's growing independance, I didn't think it would be right to wrap it up with them getting together once again. >Yamaguchi: Saito as Wako and Eri as Ring both posses distinct charms including their unique vocal qualities. Once it was decided that these two would play the roles, I too figured there would be no way for them to be able to merge anymore. So we explored ways to resolve it without merging them. >Fujisaki: But I'm so so glad Kitaeri auditioned for the role of Ring-hime! Thank you so much for taking on such a challenging role.>There's surprisingly few Secret Friend's lives.>Director (Fujisaki): In the Ring Arc Secret Friends' lives were relatively subdued. The Secret Friends group was formed because Tsumugi was the central character of the first year. In the Ring Arc, Tsumugi was able to make a new friend so... It seems she was fine without Himari and Mitsuki because she had already formed a strong bond with them.>A secret friendship with Mugi-chan.>Director (Yamaguchi): In the Ring Arc, Tsumugi became Mugi-chan the stuffed animal and started spending time with Himari and Mitsuki that way. That's why even without their lives, every episode has a Secret Friends vibe which was important. Since there's no lip syncing need for Mugi-chan, we could through in all kinds of ad-libs (laughs). Kubo-san really enjoyed coming up with those funny lines not in the script.
>>286613549Bad TL 14/>Wako's brother, Sarashina's feelings. >Director (Fujisaki): Sarashina had a faint hope that if he gradually exposed Wako to AiPri, Ring-hime's memories would return to her... but then they all merged and the situation worsened. He confesses everything to everyone. "I'll apologize to the members of the AiPri Club" I think it's also important to depict an adult apologizing properly.>The Ring Arc doesn't have any obvious enemies.>Director (Fujisaki): The AiPri Contest emphasized a theme of self improvement over competition. There's no villians like the Dark AiPri either. Yet its dramatic developments remained unique. Himari and Mitsuki's characters really helped us in that regard, we could frame the entire story on their growth and emotional arcs.>And so with the Final AiPri Contest, Poppin' Dreamin' and Luminous Flora become rivals.>Fujisaki: Well, technically they're rivals, but it's more about "who mastered their techniques better for this theme?" so it's not exactly a cutthroat competition. Although she didn't win some of them, Mitsuki has completed the full set of them which is pretty amazing.>Yamaguchi: Also, I wanted to depict Tsumugi's growth. "I just want to get along with Himari and Mitsuki and perform together" but from there she started exploring things on her own and a desire to grow more as her own idol began to take root. So she's aiming for something different than the first year. THat direction is a bit similar to Mitsuki's though. Since they're both A-rank AiPri, Tsumugi decides to pass on to Ring-hime what she has cultivated through her friendship with Himari and Mitsuki.
>>286613564Bad TL 15/>Fujisaki: Please look forward to seeing how Himari and Mitsuki will move forward with this situation as they aim to become Eternal AiPri. We've worked hard to get this far because we want to convey how much fun AiPri really is. In particular for the Ring Arc, the original creators requested that "at least two lives be included in every episode" so with that in mind, we structured the story around showcasing the lives themselves. >Yamaguchi: The AiPri participating in the Final AiPri Contest each summarize their own performances. This is the final opportunity for all the teams to pour out their feelings. We hope you'll enjoy watching them share their journey so far through their lives. >Yamaguchi-san, how was your experience directing Himitsu no AiPri for 2 years?>Yamaguchi: This was my first time directing an anime for girls. So I was nervous at first but Director Fujisaki and I worked together as a team... Under the guidance of our experienced director Fujisaki, I've been having a great time while receiving all kinds of advice. I also visited the animation studio in Korea several times to communicate directly with the staff at Dong Woo. Konuma-san was incharge of the sound direction and created a fun atmosphere in the studio. I don't think there are many work environments where you can have this much fun, so I feel incredibly fortunate to have been able to work in such a rewarding way. Thank you for your support over these past 2 years.
>>286613586Bad TL 16/END>Fujisaki-san will also be directing the next show Onegai AiPri, okease share your message to the fans including your enthusiasm for this project. >Fujisaki: Up until now, I've been working for Himari and Mitsuki. That the same for everyone, including the staff, cast, and all the other parties invlovled. I feel like we're already like a family. We've been working on this all the while wondering how long can we maintain this sense of family, including the folks at Takara Tomy Arts. Content must have some underlying premise and is essential for it to keep selling. So I decided to not make the anime my only goal. My approach was to ensure that that the game and live events could be thoroughly enjoyed, with the anime serving as the means to help fans get to know the characters from them more deeply. We're now embarking on a new challenge: how to apply what we've learned over these past 2 years for the next project, Onegai AiPri.>I'm looking forward to the new protagonists.>Fujisaki: A new story begins for two girls named Inori and Aoi. It will depict things that haven't appeared before in Himitsu no AiPri, and I feel it will be a more down-to-earth story. We want to preserve this environment where everyone is united in creating something truly great, and together with my new director partner (TL note: too lazy to look up the name), we aim to create a new AiPri.

In particular for the Ring Arc, the original creators requested that "at least two lives be included in every episode" so with that in mind, we structured the story around showcasing the lives themselves.Too obvious and I'm saying this for a while but good that they finally talked about it themselves. >the concept of Wako as a character emerged from thoughts like "Maybe the system was updated because Ring-hime had some kind of accident and disappeared?" So the v2 and Tsumugi really happened as a hotfix in the day the accident ocurred as I imagined. Bruh.>the system couldn't handle it and went haywire, causing her memories and personality to be split apartBut did it all happen because the system just couldn't handle so much power? What could happen if it comes in a scenario it can't handle it anymore again?>It will depict things that haven't appeared before in Himitsu no AiPri, and I feel it will be a more down-to-earth story. You are lying.

>>286605190Imagine you become a transforming magical idle and fall in love with your partner only to find out she's your oneechan.
>Fujisaki: That's right (laughs). As Ring Clover within AiPriVerse, she created a character with that kind of tone of voice. However, since the character was so different from Wako's own personality, continuing it for so long might have been too exhausting for her. This is so fucking of a hilarious reason for everything to happen. Contrary to Pripara, where you're free to be whatever you want to be at anytime with the good environment it brings, in AiPri you can't really backpedal. Going against yourself/your own character can literally hurt you. Be it as Wako not sustaining her Ring Clover self, or Chii giving up to Despair and making Dark Chii be born. It's an interesting concept, really.
>>286608504Why did I think this was going to be a realistic rendering of PriPara-form Yui's corpse disfigured by napalm but in her yumekawa pose and vapid smile still
>the rare concerned AkariA fortuitous day!
>>286613606Thanks for the TL, it has been nice having the staff be so open to talking about the behind the scenes stuff for production. The "two lives format came from Uncle Tomy" is the obvious elephant in the room to me, it's a decision that imo unnecessarily harmed the individual episode pacing an unfortunately frequent amount of times. I hope they don't correlate the financial success of S2 with that production decision, because it's one that I certainly hope goes away.>>286613652>I think he means old good friends genres. After that Juria and Elle stage talk the other day, there's no point in even trying to hide that the production staff all view the show like that.

>>286614091>it has been nice having the staff be so open to talking about the behind the scenes stuff for production.https://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm27849157Been that way since the beginning, no other franchise would allow the creator to go on a ~10 minute rant about the production issues during an official press event. It's why I'm sure the directors are speaking honestly when they say how much they enjoyed working on it.
Why did they make Mitsuki's character design so that it's obvious she's gay?
>>286614320Being European was an integral plot point.
One unrelated note, but I think Ring is kinda more beautiful without her crown ornament in the head. It makes the division obtuse.

But then I wondered how to keep the audience entertained throughout the 60 minute run time without them getting bored of the lives. I thought there must be ways to present them that are unique to theaters. So what I suggested was a race. In episode 72 Vivi & Chii do it for the TV anime, but this time I wanted to do something more serious. I believe it delivers the heart-pounding excitement of a race that I aimed for, perfect for the theater experience. >As shown in the trailer, it's a fun take to use the float from the coord change sequence for the race.>Yamaguchi: It's an interesting gadget isn't it? This whole time I was wondering if it'd be okay to create a scene where it flies around freely. I thought that'd be the perfect motif for the movie. There's a scene in the beginning where they drive through a tunnel and that was inspired by the cinematography of a certain racing movie. As for the story, an unexpected character goes on a major rampage as the mastermind (laughs). The AiPri characters also get to shows their funny sides that we didn't get to show in the TV series. >Fujisaki: It's like revealing another unexpected side of them as with the whole "secret" theme (laughs).
>>286628493Bad TL 2/2>Yamaguchi: One of them is the hiphop Tsumugi as shown in the trailer. There's plenty more to discover with the other characters as well, so please look forward to that as well.
