I think athena dressing up as a fairy, alice's advice and the last chapter made the most impression on me. despite agreeing with it, I don't think I am able to follow through with not getting stuck in the past. the art is beautiful and got better with time, the backgrounds are exquisite and the way amano draws fabrics and womanly curves is second only to mori. I'm looking forward for Amanchu, in the meantime I should watch aria the animation.

As it is the gondola part of manga is Messing About in Boats: the Manga. I'd like to learn something about the profession but few details are mentioned. Training too, it's the biggest time chunk of the series but they never really mention doing anything specific for training.

My dark secret is that I never really cared for the anime, so this was a good excuse to take a look at the manga to see if I found it more enjoyable. I think my overall opinion still remains that I like the concept of Aria more than actually interacting with the media, mostly because I get bogged down by various nitpicks I'm too lazy to blogpost about now, but for what it's worth I feel like the manga was able to better bring out the charm of Venice and I quite enjoy the stylistic development Amano went through during the run, both art- and tonewise.>Favorite chapter?Just the ones about nothing.
