The very existence of the Neo Heroes entered one ear and then promptly exited the other.But, one day, these clowns show up inviting Saitama to their group centered around the dumbest and pettiest of causes: hurtful hero names, and for the first time, all of Saitama's neurons activate and he becomes a full blown activist putting all of his heart into leading this noble cause.The joke is Saitama's sudden passion contrasting his usual apathy, all for the worst of reasons.The manga proceeds to erase all this. Saitama remains as dull as usual, and even though he technically still joins, now he almost looks like he doesn't even want to be here. In the webcomic he was leading from the front and screaming the loudest, now he's just there in a corner, giving token support at best, silently judging his 'comrades' at worst.
