what do you fags think about the fact that piracy is basically the best way to watch anime?is it morally okay to do so? does that even matter?here's a japanese matome thread about the recent piracy shitstorm on the internethttp://blog.esuteru.com/archives/10503435.html
I believe the bigger a company is, the more morally correct it is to steal from themonce it gets to the size of crunchyroll or netflix, stealing becomes a moral duty and obligation
>>286661955I don't put much thought into it I just do it
I think people should support manga they like and buy japanese raws so they don't get axed at two volumes. Especially since they're so easily avaiable both digitally on places like bookwalker but also physically at places like cdjapan. It's time to stop blaming the Japanese for good manga getting cancelled. You can buy it as easily as them.
>>286661955>here's a japanese matome thread about the recent piracy shitstorm on the internetdoes it boil down to pic related?
>>286662131it's not a service problem, it's a I don't want to pay problem
>>286662131I mean the thread opens with a tweet of that imageI'd say the opinions are varied, but it's like reading a /pol/ thread too.
>>286661955paying for digital content is a scam, I don't believe stealing from thieves is a crime
idk mangawise but it's more moral than giving money to crunchyroll i think
>>286661955The less westoids with bad taste infect the industry the better.
its ok if you live in the west. anime companies only care about sales in japan. we westerners have no influence so its okay.
>>286662191>paying for digital content is a scam, I don't believe stealing from thieves is a crimethen they should just stop distributing manga digitally. problem solvedretard
I think, it literally doesn't matter.I buy official merch when I want to, I pirate basically everything, and japs are still stuck in the last century.Thing is, it's a good thing. Nobody should fucking bother with this status quo since we get the best of both worlds: foreign influence is limited (and really all lands beyond their shores could stop paying altogether and the nipponese would still be able to support anime), japs will gladly pay for and support their own industries that they're proud of and we can get it for free and support it when we want to. People making a fuss about it on the net or ever bringing up morality are huge retards.
>>286662346I fail to see your point
>>286661955I don't care.I will watch my chinese cartoons, and I will not pay for them.
>>286662332you can buy manga from places like bookwalker as easily as the japanese, so you have as much influence as the japanese
>>286662332head in the sand?
>>286661955studios make a lot more money from anime-original movies (probably why they look so good too), so moralfagging about piracy is really only correct therei already support the industry by buying model kits so i don't feel any guilt about pirating old gundam shows/ovas
>>286661955I don't care and I'm not reading that, the media industry shouldn't be selling videos for more than 50cent per episode.
If my country bought the rights to show dragonball on tv and my taxes contributed to it but I can't see dragonball at that hour so I watch it on demand on piracy sites is it still immortal?
japanese moralfaggotry is cute, I get that it works for them to keep their social cohesion high and maintain their high trust system but I couldn't give less of a damnhonestly if they somehow made like a steam sort of thing with mpv support, where shit was all in one place and it was just as convenient as torrenting+rss in that it automatically downloads the files into your folder, with high quality and good subs (though I don't need them anymore) then I'd gladly fork over 10 or even 20 dollars a monthConvenience is all that really matters to me, all it has to be is more convenient than torrenting, I'd pay.
>>286662568ur cute too :3
whats with the number of piracy threads lately?
Westoids are the kind of people who think steam is good (making money=good) and not filled with slop. I don't want to imagine what will happen if those kind of people have a say, it'll all be slop
>>286662880Why is steam not good? I'm neutral, just want to hear your opinion>>286662568Yeah I'd pay that too. The problem is in Japan a lot of your money goes to the creator, the editors, the designers etc. In the west a lot goes to translators and localized who suck.
>>286662767>whats with the number of piracy threads lately?>mental illness.>shill campaignmost likely one of the twoin case you haven't noticed the industry have been far more present the past year or so here than they were previously. this place is basically just ads now
>>286663079Sad but true
>>286662131This is really it. Jap boomer execs are obsessed with bluray and physical sales and give foreigners no option to buy the product and then whine when we pirate it
>>286662388Imagine thinking westoids have any influence aside from maybe the popular shounenshit.
>>286662568>>286662979>make it available online for free>button to tip your mangaka at the end of the chapter>enrolls you in gacha for chance of figurine, gives you points otherwise>points can be spent to buy (digital) volumes or get higher quality scansthere, problem solvedhire me, zaibatsus
>>286662543No that will not give you everlasting life
95% of anime is shit and barely enjoyable. I don't pay for shit
Pirates are just fucking cool.
>>286663079>piracy>shillingnigga it's free
>>286661955Don't care, still not paying.
>>2866619551. Copyright is a legal fiction that serves a purpose 2. Maybe one of the reasons japan has a healthy entertainment industry is that they treat copyright as real ownership.
>>286661955Kinda feeds into the beggars cant be choosers argument when people start complaining about what they're stealing and demanding studios work harder on things they wont profit off of
